Some ten years ago there was a lad who was rather lost in the world. He was a staunch defending of the idea that people don't know anything about anything, and he used that as an excuse to have a completely carefree attitude to everything. His mobile phones barely lasted two hot meals, he forgot to add fillings to his sandwiches, and he never remembered where he had parked his moped. I have always forget things, though despite everything he still had clear aims. Aims which were unachievable due to his chaotic philosophy. His mother, fed up of worrying whether he had forgotten to breathe, designed him a diary. A planner that could be used to orient him. A tool that was capable of putting his acts and ideas in order. While not imposing a fixed way of working, she did create a simple tool for him to set down the steps he should follow. Now this is a trapeze artist, writes about light bulbs and has a company selling organic wigs. Even though these are not conventional occupations, they are his life objectives, and he was able to achieve them thanks to a planner born out of maternal desperation. This planner and its remarkable impact was crying out to be sold. In this way Octagon Design was born.

The City Works is a contemporary souvenirs brand, founded by Sylvia Moritz and Rowan Ottesen in 2015. It is based in Vienna, Austria. Each city collection is carefully researched and intricately drawn, with a variety of items made using the designs. Everything is designed in-house and made within the European Union. After studying Graphic Design in her native Austria, Sylvia Moritz travelled America, partaking in illustration and printmaking courses at the SMFA, Boston and UC Berkeley in San Francisco. After completing her Design degree at the University of the Arts London, Sylvia practiced as a print-maker, with her intricate city etchings turning a few heads. Sylvia then ideated a brand that used this detailed urban style in a flexible, creative, and affordable way. And so The City Works was born, on her 25th birthday, in April 2015. Originally from England, Rowan Ottesen studied design for a number of years, before residing in London while working as a Graphic Designer for a handful of London-based design agencies.

Makers Cabinet was started by three Central Saint Martins Product Design students, with the dream of making the world's best pencil sharpener, via a launch crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Fast forward five years and Makers Cabinet have a range of high quality drawing and writing tools which last a lifetime or more. This includes the Høvel pencil plane, Iris drawing compass, Stria folding ruler and Ferrule pencil extender. Makers Cabinet products are machined from solid brass and designed to patina, improving with time and use. The accessories protect and serve each product with high quality leather sheaths made in Italy, American Walnut bases and Portuguese cork bases. Who Are We Mixed Tapes specialises in recyclable packaging featuring unique designs to make your letters and parcels pop! How We Started Mixed Tapes stemmed from our sister company, Preloved Style, which sells preloved fashion. Being a sustainable business and promoting reusing it was important our packaging reflected our brand ethos. On our search to find unique craft tape, which didn’t involve an excessively large commitment, we were surprised by the lack of choice. So, began the idea of Mixed Tapes. We wanted to offer a solution to small businesses and individuals who cared about the quality and sustainability of their packaging but only wanted to commit to buying a few rolls at a time. We launched in September 2021 with 10 designs which are unique enough to make your parcels pop but will also work for a range of tastes, styles and brands.

Tissue & Tape launched in early March 2021 with one clear objective - to make eco-friendly alternatives to plastic packaging material readily available in sensible quantities to small businesses. We're a small family business run by husband and wife team, Dan & Alexandra, based in Norfolk.
