Amrapur Overseas started in California in 1983 by father and son duo, Harry and Chandru “Kevin” Wadhwani. Initially, we began as a supplier of institutional andhospitality linens and later expanded into retail home fashion textiles and décor items. Background Amrapur’s roots date back to 1960 when founder, Harry M. Wadhwani started in Hong Kong as Lachmi’s International Limited. Today Lachmi’s is amongst Hong Kong’s leading trading company, actively manufacturing fashion apparel, home textiles and decor, while at the same time, sourcing various items for its customers. In addition to sales in North America, we actively sell to Mexico and Latin America, UK, parts of Europe, as well as Dubai and the Middle-East. The Company Our core strength is sourcing, with over 50 years of sourcing experience. We bring with us a deep understanding of both the Asian manufacturing culture, as well as the understanding of the retail arena. We believe all sales start with the right sourcing and then sales will follow. We have an experienced design team in California and constantly trend research in the main design destinations hubs for the latest colors and trends. We work very closely with our retail partners, whether it is product development, or implementing their ideas into designs. We work well with our customers’ requirements and private label programs. Today In September 2015, we moved to a new, state-of-the-art, 225,000 square foot distribution facility in Corona, California.
