To survive, families marry off their daughters at puberty. Once married, women and girls are forced into sex work to sustain themselves and their families. Sewing New Futures works with women to provide paid training and mentorship as they learn about sewing, appliqué, textiles. With these skills, women gain a sustainable income while applying their creative talent and vision to artisanal work. Sewing New Futures is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and every purchase you make has a purpose. The money earned goes toward career training, education, medical care, and social services. Most importantly, sales of these goods benefit the women who are brave enough to disregard their cultural norms and refuse a life of prostitution. You may not think of yourself as an activist, but your support will change lives.

I’m a wife and mom of two littles from Minnesota!In 2019 I dusted off the sewing machine my husband bought me years ago and started creating twisted headband from my kitchen table like literally!I made one for my self and fell in love with them! I then had to share my obsession with everyone else. My handmade twisted headbands are 4 inches wide and are made from buttery soft fabric! Wear the twist in the front or back. I started Sahara Sage with two dreams in mind; own a successful business and save up for a Jeep. Now my goal is to provide each and every one of the women in this world with a high quality, hand made scrunchie. There are too many scrunchies being dumped in waste piles and women wasting money on scrunchies that will only last them a few months before having to buy more. This is not right economically or morally. Scrunchies were things I always loved and thought, why not start an Etsy shop! So, in July of 2020, while in quarantine, I started using my mom's old Singer sewing machine and old fabric and made my first scrunchie. I now have made over 1000 scrunchies and have taken photos, designed my banner and logo, made product descriptions, and much more. For every item purchased, a headband is donated to a child with an illness. HOH has grown to impact hundreds of thousands of people with a simple accessory, but it all started with a single idea to act. In December of 2021 we reached a huge goal we've been dreaming of for almost a decade, we have now donated over ONE MILLION headbands! More details: We are a small women operated give back company. All our products come on packaging that explains the cause to your customer, with your first order you will also receive a store sign that explains the cause, and we match the number of items that YOU purchase and donate headbands to YOUR local children's hospital or one of choice.
