Adriana is Peruvian, Laerke is Danish. Together they founded Ayni out of a common love for arts and crafts, nature’s finest materials and a strong social, economic and environmental engagement. The fashion pieces are designed and made in Peru, using only the most exclusive Peruvian materials such as the luxurious baby alpaca and the famous Pima cotton. Additionally, the company also runs Ayni Certify to recognize the artisan work of Peruvian women in local communities and rural areas. More than 2000 artisans have been certified and trained by AYNI. The motto ´all we knit is love´ describe how AYNI create pieces that cultivate heritage through reciprocity with love as the driving factor, and you can see this in each of their carefully sourced collections and handmade pieces. Today the AYNI family incorporates more than 300 Peruvian artisan collaborators and the pieces are sold around the world in high end retail spaces primarily in the US, Europe and Japan. The founders Adriana and Laerke are driven by creating business with a purpose and telling stories channeling design via culture. We offer a stylish yet conscious alternative with key items such as handcrafted sweaters, crochet dresses and twin sets with focus on design and durability creating positive impact for people and planet.
