To call Carrie Kiefer & Morgan Georgie close would be a serious understatement. For years it’s been Carrie & Morgan, Morgan & Carrie. The name of their design venture says it all — Ampersand. With one single stroke, the ampersand is the symbol that connects two formerly separate elements. Having a strong love of typography, they were happy to discover that the ampersand is historically the character that a typographer can use to infuse personality and playfulness into a font. It’s the symbol in the alphabet that gets to have a little more fun! Carrie & Morgan believe that it was no coincidence that they first met in typography class. The two continued to study graphic design together at the University of Kansas and were roommates during their semester abroad in England. After graduation, both were hired by Hallmark Cards where they worked together for almost a decade chatting over cubicle walls. During their years at Hallmark, the two held multiple positions including Designer, Art Director, and Creative Strategist where they designed and led various multi-million dollar collections and accounts.Read their story
