Miners Mix is a small family-owned business located in Mariposa, home of Yosemite National Park in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of central California. “If it didn’t exist in 1850, it ain’t in here!” What that slogan means is that everything in every Miners Mix package is the real, genuine, article. Miners Mix is what could have been blended back in the days of the gold miners who flocked to this Mother Lode region of California. Our products contain no MSG, no flavor enhancers, no preservatives, no artificial colors, and no high-fructose nonsense. When you taste Miners Mix on a steak, piece of chicken, or some grilled mushrooms, you really do taste the food, just as those tough ol’ gold miners did so many years ago. We think that’s the way seasonings should be. After all, one eats foods for the flavor of the meats and vegetables - not the seasoning. Miners Mix is an evolution of over 45 years of tending grills and smokers in searing desert heat, snow and sleet. In 2014 we came to the realisation that the sauces we were buying in the supermarkets weren't doing our food justice. They often contained water as one of the main ingredients and usually some sort of thickener. Sauces should be about flavour and the big brand stuff just didn't cut it. We cooked big pans of sauce in our home kitchen after work and spent the weekends selling them on markets or delivering to shops. Word spread, business grew and by 2015 we left our jobs working in the mass production side of food. Our mission has always been a pursuit of flavour. We're now a team of 34, who cook, bottle, label and pack every single product. Based in Nottingham, we produce thousands of bottles and jars every week to be shipped all over the world. We're only just getting started though, our ambition is to become a global brand, helping people create great tasting and exciting food all over the world.

Eaten Alive is the product of two chefs who bonded over shared passions for food, travel, and fermentation. Glyn and Pat have spent more than 20 years in some of the country’s best and most fun restaurants and food businesses, from L’Enclume, Fera, and The Ledbury to Japanese-themed hotdogs, fried chicken, and patisserie. There are thousands of hot sauces available to buy, but only a handful have been through the fermentation process which gives addictive, satisfyingly savoury characteristics, complex flavours and rounded chilli heat. Steve aka "The Lazy Scientist" has been a chilli aficionado going on over 20 years. It was around 2015 and a move to London in pursuit of a new career in teaching that the art of fermentation began to play a much bigger part and led in turn to the registering of a food business producing small batches of hot sauce, which are now the staple of many a local dining table and commercial establishment. It all began with the discovery of a local home brew supplies shop in Brixton. Steve decided to use the experience earnt in his university days and industrial pharmaceutical laboratories to hone a new skillset involving some rather remarkable microorganisms. From beer and Mead came naturally fermented pickles, kimchi and chilli mashes, then Kombucha and more recently still a journey into the ancient Japanese art of Miso production. All of this knowledge has culminated in some rather interesting concoctions and flavours… some of which have even made it to market! However it wasn’t until 2018, following some nurturing conversations with friends he decided it was high time to put everything learnt to the test and see if a larger audience, who were similarly enthusiastic about melting their faces could be reached… Thus "The Lazy Scientist" was born. Steve follows an ethos of sustainability; choosing only the finest, fresh ingredients he can source either from his own garden or that of family and friends as well as supporting local businesses on Electric Avenue.
