It all started in college when we learned how to make our own beer. Every 6-pack we brewed left us with 1 pound of grain. We discovered that this flavorful and fragrant grain we were left with after each batch is not “spent” at all. The concentration of fiber, protein and other nutrients that don’t end up in the beer make it truly “super” nutritious! We were hauling this grain out to the dumpster until we started baking bread with it. At first, our goal was to make enough money to brew beer for free. We soon realized the possibilities were much bigger. Breweries produce billions of pounds of grain each year!
