Our main products are colorful crochet bags handcrafted by artisan women in Colombia and designed by me, cute bohemian bags handcrafted with fabric embroidered by the Hmong tribes of northern Thailand, and some other trending accessories such as woven bag/camera straps, charms, cute summer sandals and boho jewelry. Our happy customers appreciate the outstanding work behind an art piece made by hand, and are generally travel and color lovers, just like me! We promote fair trade practices with all the artisans who handcraft our products. I am very proud to give back and work directly with the indigenous communities in Colombia -where I was born- where we help to support 18 families that handcraft our products. In our journey with this family business, we have sold thousands of bags supporting women, and giving artisans who crochet from their homes a chance to market their products globally and support their families. The Shebobo team consists of over 400 artisans that work in collectives around the countryside of Madagascar, an island east of Africa. Our products are made from all natural fibers, including raffia, rush, sisal & banana palm. These fibers are renewable, sustainable & biodegradable. The raw materials are hand dyed and prepared for looming by splitting the palm leaves into thread like balls of yarn for weaving or crocheting, using the same traditional weaving techniques learned over 100 years ago. These fibers are naturally dyed and woven into hats, bags and other accessories. Every accessory is unique, and there can be slight irregularities in the shade and shape of the bags due to the nature of its craftsmanship. Because each piece is hand-dyed the natural fibers may fade with time.
