About OlyKraut

OlyKraut was started as a school project. The goal? To build a vibrant, regional, organic food system and most importantly support the growth of organic farming. Over almost 12 years, the OlyKruat team has been making sauerkraut in Olympia Washington - buying more regional organic produce each year. Routed in community, we have been a staple of the year-round Olympia's Farmer's market. Sash Sunday, founder and master fermenter, cares deeply about the products she brings to market. As such OlyKraut has the highest standards in the industry: OlyKraut is slow fermented over 6 weeks to allow the flavors to develop; OlyKraut is never fermented in plastic, instead we use stainless steel and pack into glass jars; and we use the highest quality fresh produce - which we source directly from regional organic farmers. This attention to detail leads to some fo the best kraut available. It's consistently bright and crunchy. We're . proud to say our amazing recipes have won 6 Good Food Awards. OlyKraut is a conscious company. We are still women-owned & operated. We have built an inclusive workplace where our team is happy. We are also a certified B Corporation & an active part of the B Corp community - helping build more impactful businesses.

Hello, we're Olives Et Al in Dorset, UK. 2024 is our 31st year of creating, sourcing & supplying authentic foods & ingredients from recipes collected on our original year-long motorcycle journey around the Mediterranean, and on the many more miles we’ve covered since. The Journey In the early 90s, Giles and Annie Henschel embarked on a year-long adventure that would be the inspiration for Olives Et Al. Travelling on motorbikes through the Mediterranean, the Middle East and North Africa, they fell in love with the food they ate along the way. They couldn’t gather many souvenirs, but did gather recipes hoping to re-capture the essence of their experiences by recreating at home the foods they had enjoyed abroad. Using all the knowledge they’d collected during their travels, they launched Olives Et Al in 1993 to satisfy their own culinary cravings and to share great Olives with a wider audience. In April 2024 Giles & Annie took those same bikes on a journey again with the purpose of discovering how climate change is affecting the Olive harvest which have been failing. Olives Et Al has spent 30+ years developing an extraordinary range of award-winning products from Kiln Roasted Nuts & Snacks to unique Dressings, Sauces and Condiments plus, of course, our incredible Olives. A percentage of ALL sales goes towards addressing food insecurity in the UK. One of the oldest forms of food preservation, foods made using fermentation have played a significant role in our food system for thousands of years. The preservation power of fermentation allows us to extend the life of perfectly edible fruit and veg for longer, in an energy efficient manner. Since we began in 2019, our business has been dedicated to reducing our environmental impact in any way we can. That's why we reuse as much of our materials as possible and ship our products UK wide using at least 75% of up-cycled packaging material.
