Founded in Brooklyn, NY in 2016, Magpie Dry Goods is an accessories design company. We focus on high quality, modern, urban-style backpacks, messenger bags, dopp kits, and travel bags. The collection is made from responsibly sourced and produced materials including vegetable tanned leathers made by skilled artisans. All of our products are designed with what we consider Urban Practicality. We understand that a bag first and foremost must be functional. While functionality is essential we also understand that a bag is an extension of a carefully considered look and is as important as the clothes we wear.

We are a small company based in Austin, Texas, and our products are inspired by our love of nature, travel and spontaneity. Weather resistant and durable, our bags are meant to be used - not just carried, but really used... whether simply running errands in the city, hiking along your favorite trail, or on a cross-country road trip. Every day should be an adventure, and we want to be there for it. We believe in kindness and strive to help others in our community. Our Austin-based manufacturing partner, Open Arms Studio, empowers local refugee women with living wage employment, and every purchase helps these women on the path to self-sufficiency.

In June 2018, I was confronted with yet another news report about the plastic waste problem. At that time, I was on vacation in Samos. It was there that I realized this is not just a problem in Asia... everywhere in the streets of Samos, I encountered plastic waste. A few days later, on June 5, 2018, it was World Environment Day. That was the sign for me: I need to do something about this. Most of the plastic waste consists of plastic bags. And I want to get rid of them! NoMorePlastic aims for a world without plastic bags! With our sustainable shoppers, I want to offer you an alternative to the plastic bag. Our shoppers are made from recycled bed linen and tablecloths. They are very strong and nice and large.
