Our family’s connection to olive trees is a part of our history that spans decades. The appreciation for their beauty originated in Tunisia and continues to Canada to this day since my parent’s immigration. After my graduation in industrial engineering with my keen entrepreneurial spirit I was looking for a community of buyers looking for unique and/or handmade items. Step by step I developed and improved my business and enjoying my work every day.

1998 - When it all started It all started when a French chef living in the UK made a small order of restaurant quality kitchenware for his family and some friends. They loved the products so much that he decided to try to sell them to friends of friends. It was a success and a catalogue kitchenware business was born. Fast forward 20 years We sell over 450 exceptional kitchenware products (all sustainably and responsibly manufactured) and have over 500,000 happy customers including many chefs, hotels and caterers.

The magic and beauty of olive wood fascinated me in 2010. In the small mountain village of Carcasonne in southern France on the way to Spain. People queued up in front of a small shop. We went in and saw the beautiful olive wood and the people who were fascinated by it. The idea was born! We looked for and found partners in the Mediterranean region. First, we set up a small business. But soon we also got into production and created and offered our own products because we had more and more requests for individual products and new ideas. Today, our team consists of just under 50 people. Our product range offers innovative and absolutely natural olive wood products for the kitchen and household, BBQ, decoration, wellness, beauty and small animal areas. In these areas, we offer our customers high-quality products at attractive margins.

Tuckahoe Hardwoods was started by brothers George and Johnny Dent in 2004 out of an old farmhouse on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. After developing our wood business in Maryland over the next several years, we started doing some sustainable forestry consulting projects in Indonesia. We had an opportunity to expand by opening our own furniture shop in Central Java, where we received our “Indonesia Green Wood” Certification, and we use only sustainably sourced woods for all of our products. We have always focused on attention to detail and establishing long-lasting relationships with an added emphasis on complete customer satisfaction. Our operation is completely family owned and operated and we will continue to provide the highest quality wood products available to the industries we serve.
