What is Top Shop?
We created Top Shop to recognise and reward the best brands on Faire. Brands that meet all the Top Shop criteria in a quarter earn a badge for the following quarter that signals to retailers they can expect quality products and reliable service from that brand. You can visit the Top Shop page in your brand portal to see how you’re tracking towards earning the badge.
What do you get as a Top Shop on Faire?
If you meet all the Top Shop criteria by the end-of-quarter checkpoint, you’ll earn a Top Shop badge for the following quarter. The badge helps you:
Stand out in search
When you earn Top Shop status, your products will appear in search results with a special Top Shop badge. Retailers can filter by Top Shop status to only browse Top Shop brands. In fact, on a monthly basis, 10,200 unique retailers filter by Top Shop status when viewing search results.
Attract new customers
Retailers are more likely to place opening orders with Top Shop brands, as the badge gives them confidence in your shop’s quality and reliability. Top Shop brands average 1.8x more views and 2.4x higher revenue compared to non-Top Shop brands**.
Celebrate your success and increase your reach beyond Faire
When you earn a Top Shop badge, you can use customisable social media templates to recognise and celebrate your team. This extends beyond Faire – you can share these on social media and via email as a mark of confidence for your new and existing retailers.
How can you qualify as a Top Shop?
There are 4 criteria you must meet by the end of each quarter to qualify as a Top Shop and earn the badge. On the last day of each quarter, your eligibility will be calculated based on whether you meet the following criteria:
Merchandising score | 50 points minimum |
Retailer rating | 4.8 average or higher (in the last 12 months) |
Cancelled orders | 3% or less |
Missing items | 3% or less |
If you qualify, we’ll send an email on the first day of the new quarter to let you know you’ve earned Top Shop status. You can also check your Top Shop status on the homepage or on the Top Shop page in your brand portal.
If you don’t meet all the criteria in any given quarter, don’t worry – you’ll still be eligible to try to qualify again the following quarter. Top Shop follows a 3-month review cycle:
- 1 January to 31 March
- 1 April to 30 June
- 1 July to 30 September
- 1 October to 31 December
The checkpoint cut-off for each review cycle occurs at 23:59:59 PST on the above quarter end dates.
Tips and tricks to get started
Orders
Although not an explicit criterion, you must have at least 1 order within the quarter to qualify for Top Shop. Start by sharing your Faire Direct link to bring customers to your Faire shop, or encourage reorders from your existing customers by sending a targeted campaign with a special promotion.
Merchandising score
You can meet this 50-point requirement by doing tasks that help make your shop attractive to retailers. Choose from a series of tasks, such as adding new products, uploading at least three videos or images to your product listings, or running a shop-wide promotion.
Ratings
To improve your ratings, keep your quality and service levels high and make sure customers leave reviews. Leverage tools within the Faire app (like campaigns or your Faire Direct QR code) to offer faster customer service and message customers after they receive an order to ask for a review.
Cancelled orders
Avoid cancellations by keeping your inventory up to date and reviewing your product offerings every few months to make sure they’re current. Note, pre-orders are not counted in this metric.
Missing items
Printing pick lists (and checking every order before shipping) can help your team avoid missing items in your shipments. Note that your missing items percentage for Top Shop does not include anything related to damaged items – those are two separate metrics.
