We’ve put together this short guide to make sure you and your team get the most value possible out of Faire Direct. 

Why should my brand take advantage of Faire Direct?

Brands benefit from Faire Direct in a number of ways, but there are four big ones: 

  1. Convert leads into buyers. Offer Faire benefits such as 60-day payment terms for eligible retailers and free returns on opening orders to encourage new retailers to order from your brand (or drive reorders from existing customers).
  2. Pay 0% commission. If a retailer relationship qualifies based on our Faire Direct policy, you pay 0% commission any time that retailer orders from you on Faire.
  3. Improve your visibility in the Faire marketplace. Every new retailer you bring to the platform via Faire Direct teaches our search algorithm what kind of retailers will be interested in your products. Meanwhile, existing customers who order through your Faire Direct link are more likely to write a positive review of your brand and less likely to return merchandise – two key drivers in determining your brand’s ranking in the marketplace.
  4. Boost overall sales. On average, brands that use Faire Direct earn up to 4x more revenue on Faire than brands that don’t.1
  5. Simplify your wholesale business. The more retailers you bring to the Faire platform, the more you can take advantage of free Faire services like retailer verification, underwriting, and guaranteed payments – saving you both time and money.

5 tips to get the most out of Faire Direct

Follow these best practices to make sure as many of your retailer relationships as possible qualify for 0% commission.  

Sharing your personal Faire Direct link is the best and simplest way to encourage customers and prospects to buy from your Faire shop. Here are a few tried-and-tested methods for doing so:

  • Add your link to your email signature and include it in the body of relevant emails to leads
  • Include it in your social media posts and account profile
  • Share it in direct messages with customers on SMS, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, etc.
  • Feature a QR code version of your link on your business cards and in printed marketing collateral

You’ll find your Faire Direct link, as well as your QR code, in your brand portal. When retailers who have not previously ordered from you on Faire click that link and place an order, they automatically qualify as a Faire Direct customer and you pay 0% commission on their orders.  

2. Add the Faire Direct widget to your website 

Every Faire brand has access to a Faire Direct widget that you can easily add to your business website or wholesale page. The widget promotes the benefits and incentives of ordering on Faire while providing an automated, “always on” way to engage inbound leads. When retailers click the widget, they are instantly connected to your Faire shop. 

Just like your personal Faire Direct link, you’ll get 0% commission on orders coming through the widget, so long as those retailers haven’t ordered from you before through the marketplace. On average, brands who use the widget see 3x more sales than brands who don’t.2

3. Use our email marketing tools 

Faire’s email marketing tools make it easy to segment retailers and target them with personalised content. Start by adding customers to your Faire portal. Then, regularly send targeted, tailored messages that promote the benefits of buying on Faire and include your Faire Direct link. 

For example, many brands will send an email announcing they’re now selling on Faire and highlighting the retailer benefits of purchasing from them on Faire (e.g. 60-day payment terms for eligible retailers). From there, you can automate reminder emails to Faire Direct customers who haven’t completed their Faire sign-up or Faire Direct customers who haven’t used their sign-up offer with your brand.

We recommend emailing leads no more than a few times a month and, to make sure they automatically qualify as a Faire Direct relationship, no less than once every three months. This approach keeps leads engaged with your brand while limiting the odds of you unintentionally coming across as spammy.

It’s a good idea to periodically confirm and update information for all your contacts, too, so you can remove any addresses that have previously bounced or unsubscribed. This will help keep your reputation strong as an email sender. 

4. Capture in-person leads using the Faire app for brands

Brands like yours often meet potential new customers in person – whether at trade shows or networking events. If you haven’t done so already, download the Faire app for brands. Any retailer you meet who hasn’t already ordered from you through Faire can simply scan your Faire Direct QR code from the Faire app. As long as they order from you within one year, they will automatically qualify as a 0% commission customer for your brand.

When a retailer scans your QR code, they can opt in to provide you with their contact information, so you can easily follow up with them afterwards. We recommend emailing any leads you meet in person. That way you can keep them engaged and make sure they understand all the benefits you’re able to extend with Faire DIrect. 

5. Put your QR code on print collateral

We also have ready-to-print marketing materials, including displays and flyers, that feature a QR code version of your link. This way, you can share your Faire Direct link with leads to convert them into commission-free customers even if they don’t have time to stop and write an order. Simply head to your brand portal and click on the “In Person” tab in the top navigation bar to get started.
