This large stein is engraved with an original Celtic Stag design. The stag is a common theme throughout most mythology. For the Celts, the stag is believed to be able to travel between worlds. They were seen as a symbol of fertility ( The Celt god Cernunnos, believed to be the god of fertility and plenty is shown in human form with stag horns. He has deer or stag antlers on the top of his head), as well as rejuvenation and rebirth as they regrow their antlers each year. and was the companion of different gods and goddesses. In Ireland it is also said that St. Patrick turned himself and his companions into stags to allude the snare of a pagan king. Today, the stag is also found today on the Coat of Arms and Clan Crests of many families originating from nations with Celtic roots (i.e. Scottish Clans Forbes and Fraser).
