Bachrun LoMele's Morning Paper designs are inspired by the creatures and plants surrounding us in California’s Sierra Nevada foothills, where we landed after leaving New York City in 2003. His fresh take on mountain life has become its own ecosystem — unique compositions inspired by Medieval manuscripts, Islamic calligraphy, decorative arts of all kinds, and “outsider” art, as well as his long experience as an illustrator. Bachrun and Mahalia together created Fivespot Cabin for vacationers visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, in 2008. It proved to be a happy place for visitors, so in 2016, they opened Merrynook Cabin next door. They have since welcomed thousands of guests from all around the world, all year long. Until now, we have offered Morning Paper dot Design products exclusively, locally: at our Honor System Gift Shops on the porches of Fivespot and Merrynook Cabins, and at Boyden Cavern, located in nearby Giant Sequoia National Monument. Our shop on Faire gives buyers a chance to offer that special mountain cabin feeling to their customers, wherever they call home.
