I was first introduced to watercolours at the age of 21 after asking my aunt for a lesson, but I found I was too impatient to grasp the traditional method of painting and instead developed my own unique style; applying the paint first in loose expressive strokes and then drawing the details afterwards in ink. This 'backwards' technique allows me to create artworks that are full of character and movement... after all, animals themselves rarely sit still! After over 10 years of running my art business, I decided to make the leap into trade. My greeting cards and prints are now stocked in many independent galleries and gift shops across the UK. With a passion for nature and wildlife I am always finding ways to utilise my art to raise money for charity. So far over £30,000 has been raised through the sale of my artwork and prints... after all, it's only fair that the animals I paint get something back. Read their story
