Every candle DOES GOOD because it gives back by providing 1-3 months of health insurance to someone in need in Rwanda, based on the candle size sold. We’re partnered directly with a Rwandan non-profit and believe the things we enjoy can do some good in the world too! We seek to bring a feeling of relaxation, coziness and refreshing with every candle. We believe the beauty of a flame and the joy of nostalgic fragrance grounds us in the moments and memories that make up our lives. We choose to spread light and love by making products that positively impact the world, both through the ingredients + materials they're made from and their social impact. Our scents are made to complement a space without overpowering it, inspired by both the outdoor adventures and ordinary moments we enjoy. Misiyo (sounds like missy-o) means 'mission' and we hope you'll join us in this mission of feeling good and doing good!

I discovered my passion for candle-making back in 2017. After days of researching, I decided to create something functional yet enjoyable to burn. The idea of a cactus and succulent candle struck me, inspired by the plants scattered in every corner of my room. At that time, it was just an idea in my head, as I had never seen anything like it on the internet before. When I shared my first creation with friends and family, the heartening feedback fueled my passion. Fast forward a few years, I left my full-time job, started a candle business from my basement, and later moved into a warehouse. Leading an all-women small team (except for my husband, who always helps out unconditionally), I now do what I enjoy the most - crafting candles that are both beautiful and meaningful. Driven by a desire for craftsmanship and artisan distinction, ZOET Studio came to life. What began as a labor of love quickly blossomed into a genuine passion and, ultimately, a small business. Believing in creating candles that not only infuse spaces with pleasant scents but also serve as works of art sparking conversations, at ZOET Studio, we focus on quality and sustainability. Wax and Fire Co., an aromatic experience for the home and spirit. Our brand was created out of a passion for scents that are unique, beautiful and convey feelings of feeling of peace, calm, love, joy and nostalgia. We are a woman owned and operated company, and a Living Wage Employer. We are located in Hamilton, Ontario. Our founder, Ella Nunes believes strongly in holistic health and the power of scent to take us to far away places, down memory lane or new places never before discovered. We create as little waste as possible and our candles are handmade with love. We use local suppliers, always being mindful of making as little impact on our planet as possible. We believe strongly in using only clean burning soy wax, lead free cotton wicks and high quality, phthalate free scents, including some essential oils. The feedback our customers always give is that these are the best candles they have ever used, our scents are not overpowering and do not cause headaches. Unlike many companies who claim to use soy wax but actually use paraffin wax blended with a small amount of soy, we use only 100% soy wax. We also proudly create a Zero Waste product, creating as little waste as possible, using only reusable glass vessels for our candles which not only keeps our landfills free of garbage but also enhances your space. Our candles are for those who are wellness minded, enjoy natural scents that do not overwhelm the senses, and like to support small business.

With a name inspired by the duality that lives within us all, we believe the small pause that lighting your candle brings is worth honouring; how a small action brings forth a steady, warm light. With fragrance blends as diverse as the folks who burn them, our candles were made for both quiet, sacred moments alone and cozy gatherings with the ones you love most. We have a lot in common with fire. Our founder Julie wanted to invite others to explore their own passions and memories. To light a fire, draw down the sacred and go within. So she stuck out on her own and began the journey that led to Shy Wolf. She was joined by a fellow firefighter who quickly became her right-hand woman, and not long afterwards they were joined by the rest of our pack. OUR STUDIO Tucked away in the village of Grey Highlands, Ontario, our studio is surrounded by an empire of forest fed by the waters of the Saugeen. Moved by the raw beauty of our surroundings, we hand-pour each candle in the historic building we call home. They’re sustainably crafted with soy wax, cotton wicks, and a custom blend of natural scents inspired by classic rock and the tarot. It is not only known for being a locally manufactured staple in Canadian apothecaries but also for the yearly donations that support initiatives toward inclusion and safe workspaces, raising over $391,000 to date. We hope that by modelling inclusive employment where ⅓ of our staff members have a disability and committing to initiatives that foster a safe space for everyone, such as the Trans Affirming Network, our mission of Creating Inviting Spaces will be spread across the world and inclusive employment will not be an exception, it will be the standard. Elegant. Over time, this creative and therapeutic outlet began taking up more space than we (or our tiny apartment) bargained for. So, we joined the online marketplace. And we sold a variety of our handcrafted goods and gifts tailored for self-care—in our own style, in our own way, not exactly on our own terms. Remarkably, we received an overwhelming response from customers just like you. It was positive and it was telling. And it was simple. Self-care wasn't a luxury, it was a need. The design of our jars was inspired by lab-ware and vintage glass, with reuse in mind. This is one of the ways in which we practice sustainability. It’s important to us that our customers keep their Field Kit vessels and give them a second life. Inspiration for our fragrances comes from a myriad of spaces, places, and experiences, drawing on the emotions and memories of the past, to tell a story.

Proudly Made in Canada! Charleston & Harlow: the brainchild of Andrea and Jeff; nerds, travel enthusiasts, style aficionados, best friends, and partners in both business, shenanigans, and life in general. The idea to start a candle business came to us while on a trip to Croatia, where we were exploring the islands and enjoying all they had to offer. While waiting on the pier one evening for the ferry back to Split, we reminisced about all the things we had seen, eaten, smelled (and let's face it... drank!) while on our trip. "Isn't it funny..." we thought, "how you can bring home all sorts of souvenirs from trips, but of all things that tug at your memory and really immerse you in a moment in time, it's scent.....scent really takes you there." Well, lets face it... it's not that easy to take a scent home with you from a trip. That conversation stuck with us for months after the trip, until finally we decided it was time to take our epiphany and do something with it. Being candle lovers ourselves, it just seemed natural to see if we could create candles that took us back to our trips, or even to childhood memories. And so Charleston & Harlow was born (named after our two french bulldogs). Damn fine candles, made with damn fine ingredients... that's our ethos. And it's spilled over into everything we do. Once upon a time, in the heart of California, two gay men named Tyler and Daniel were searching for a way to share their love of laughter and good times with the world. They had always been the life of the party, always quick with a joke or a funny quip to lighten the mood. One day, while burning a boring old candle, they decided to start their own candle company that was as funny and fabulous as they were. Thus, the Funny Flames Candle Co. was born. Tyler and Daniel spent countless hours perfecting their unique scents and perfecting their candle-making process. They decided to use eco-friendly coconut wax because they wanted to ensure that their products were both sustainable and giftable. Each candle was lovingly hand-poured, with careful attention paid to every detail. But what really set the Funny Flames Candle Co. apart was their commitment to humor and laughter. Each candle was named after a hilarious joke or pun, paired with the perfect matching scent. The duo believed that laughter was the best medicine and wanted to bring joy and humor to their customers' lives through their products. They made sure each candle came with a silly label or a witty quote to brighten up their customers' days. The packaging was just as fun, with bright colors and quirky illustrations that reflected the company's ethos.

My Weekend is Booked is a natural soy candle and gifting company based in Tecumseh, Ontario owned by mother-daughter duo, Christina and Emily. Our goal: to dazzle and delight with artisan products that are both visually stunning and intentionally crafted. Each My Weekend is Booked candle is an everyday luxury, crafted with the understanding of the power of natural fragrance to transform a space. Our customers are drawn to the playful, modern designs, and unique natural fragrances. Our candles are made with natural soy wax, 100% plant-derived fragrances and cotton, lead-free wicks. The premium, plant-derived fragrances that we use are often three to four times the cost of synthetic fragrance oils. Not only are our candles free of synthetic fragrances; they also do not contain phthalates, parabens, dyes or petroleum-derived waxes. Our commitment to high-quality, eco-friendly and natural products has remained steadfast since day one. Our packaging and shipping materials are recyclable, sourced with the environment in mind. Working side by side to transform our bold ideas into reality, we have come to one conclusion: running a candle company as a mother-daughter team could not be any more lit! We donate a portion of our net profits to the Stay Gold Society, an organization created by our co-founder, Emily, that brings joy to the elderly by distributing care packages and cards to seniors in long-term care, retirement homes and within the community.
