Julia Li is a Graphic Designer, graduated from Emily Carr University of Arts and Design in Vancouver, BC Canada. Soon after graduates she traveled to Japan and studied for several years in Tokyo. She was fascinated and strongly influenced by Japanese arts, culture and especially their jewelry creations with the emphasis on exquisite details and craftsmanship. Shortly, Julia’s passion for fashion jewelry grew. She later returned to Hong Kong, her birthplace, and became a Jewelry purchaser at a popular local designer handbag retailer, where she often traveled to Korea and Japan for work. Several years later, Julia opened her own Jewelry studio and created her own Jewelry brand “Sweet-Heaven”, in which her collections were sold to over 200+ retailers in Hong Kong and abroad, including countries like Japan, Australia, Canada and the UK. Shortly, she opened another workshop and launched her second brand “Giggle” with more beautiful handmade jewels to share. In 2020, she relocated to Vancouver, BC with her family, husband, and her 2 beautiful children. Currently, she is relaunching her second brand as “Giggle with Love” in Canada. This brand will focus on handmade jewelry and gifts, with materials such as Polymer Clay, Pressed flower, and resin where Julia found strong interest in. It all started with a bang -actually a break...several breaks to be precise! In early 2018 I had the misfortune of enduring a trimalleolar fracture (AKA; a super broken ankle). Off my feet for months, with endless time on my hands, I turned to crafting to keep me busy (specifically jewelry crafting). I wanted to create earrings that were unique, and sparked joy while promoting self expression. I began taking requests for new styles, and slowly my little crafting niche grew into a business. I genuinely love watching people react to my products! I offer many different styles inspired by references throughout pop culture, ranging from obscure to mega popular. I take pride in being able to offer a little something for everyone!

Semaki & Bird was conceived in a “eureka” moment on a cold November day in southeast Alaska. It was 1986 and I was working as a fisheries biologist. Semaki means fish in Swahili and my idea was to start a company which wholesaled fish and bird stationery, jewelry and artisan work. Along with my love for these two wonderful vertebrates, I had a lifelong interest in art and design. It seemed a natural fit. As the company grew, the lines expanded to additional flora and fauna. Ideas still spawn from numerous outdoor experiences. After designing the Track earring and Foot Note lines, it was nearly impossible to hike without looking at the ground for animal signs. Our Natural History jewelry line reflects this love of nature. An educational message about the species is on the back of the jewelry card. It is important to me that Semaki & Bird is an earth friendly company, using recycled materials whenever possible and supporting local and global environmental causes. Ellie Parker Ceramics is a minority, woman-owned business that was created out of Ellie's love affair for beautiful, handmade ceramics. Having always marched to the beat of her own drum, Ellie left her life in corporate accounting to pursue a future where she could live, work, and play on her terms. Taking her passion for colour and design — along with her ability to create unique, wearable art — Ellie was able to break into the market and her pieces quickly became sought after. Handmade in Canada's Ocean Playground (Nova Scotia), Ellie pulls inspiration from life's simple beauties. With each piece undergoing three separate kiln firings and reaching maximum temperatures of 1200 C, with care, these pieces will stand the test of time.
