Our company was founded by Portland illustrator Rachel Austen in 2017 out of her desire to create a nostalgic product from her illustrations that customers could interact with and that would spur their own creativity. Her kits feature a diverse array of subject matter, including still lifes, botanicals, and inspirational history-makers! We seek to reduce our impact on the environment by carefully sourcing eco-friendly components that are locally produced and USA-made, whenever possible. Our custom paint colors are mixed by hand from non-toxic USA-made acrylic, and our kits are assembled with the help of a small staff in Portland, Oregon. Alongside our fantastic team we design & make an ever evolving collection of products which are made in England with great care & attention to detail. Based on the riverside in Leeds, Yorkshire (our hometown!), we work responsibly & sustainably with producers & all products pass through our studio for compiling before heading out to customers. Everything is made to order & carefully wrapped & packed by the team. So in busy periods it does take us a few weeks to work through orders, but we hope your customers will appreciate the care put into making good quality products. Paper products & packaging are printed & finished in our home county using mainly 100% recycled materials. All wood is sustainably sourced & is lasercut locally. Wherever possible product components such as twine, cork & envelopes are sourced from manufacturers in either England or Europe. We are proud to be stocked in over 1000 shops, boutiques, florists, museums, garden centres & galleries. Most of these are fantastic independent businesses that make our towns & cities vibrant & interesting places, however we also work with larger & prestigious retailers such as the RA & Waterstones. What started as a gift for my favorite little people in the world blossomed into DelilahIris Designs. I had been making a lot of handmade toys from felt and fabric for my children. I have a long standing professional background in graphic design and print, so I began to draft patterns of the toys I designed. Once I got started I had so much fun creating all of these creatures that I just couldn't stop. There are always eager hands held out to accept my creations.
