Origido was launched in September 2021. Our mission is to create a brand that is good for the planet and its people. We do this by making our products sustainable and paying fair wages to the workers. Balance swimwear is made for all lifestyles and bodies. We pair our swimwear with guided meditations to help you develop lasting self-love habits that make your days at the beach as renewing as they should be. Our swimwear is designed and manufactured in New York City’s garment district by workers that earn a fair wage. The fabric is sourced from Italy and printed in the USA. We chose Italian lycra because it looks and feels great on your body and also holds up to wear and tear like a champ. It’s UV and Chlorine-resistant and made from recycled yarns, too. Balance was born from my love for the beach, and from my belief that swimwear should bring joy, not anxiety. After graduating from college, my work in the art world prompted a move from New York City to Kingston, Jamaica, where I fell in love with the culture, in particular the love that people had for the beach. It was in Jamaica that I made my first attempt at designing swimwear, taking my patterns to local seamstresses. After moving back to New York, I continued taking design classes at FIT (while still working a 9-5). I also became a trained meditation teacher under Dr. Joe Loizzo, specializing in Metta or Loving Kindness practice. It wasn't the traditional fashion designer's path and it wasn’t always easy but it inspired me to build what Balance is today.

All pieces are designed to fit your body perfectly and make you feel comfortable, beautiful, and confident. I have put my heart into this company and seeing the smiles on people's faces when they like one of my pieces fills my heart. Handmade & Sustainable We're now in the 21st century and all trying to do our bit. I am a strong believer in having a couple of good pieces that will last many years and which are ethically made than many of lesser quality. I design and produce all the high-quality pieces myself at my studio in Barcelona, to avoid exploitation of wages or unfair working conditions. All the pieces are handmade.

I love everything about nature because I am a native of the Big Island, Hawaii. It was this simple phrase that I would continually find myself saying that sparked the then crazy idea- I should start a swim/lifestyle business. From my humble beginnings- Thrifting bikini's since middle/high school and recycling them between friends for our everyday beach days- I've always been on the hunt for a cute, affordable bikini. The concept was something I felt needed perfecting before I started… I wanted to create pieces that made you feel comfortable, a sense of freedom, and a feeling of inspiration. Much like how I feel when basking under the warm sun or when Hilo rains. I wanted to make sure this essence was present through every aspect of Kruise Lifestyle.
