About Antoinette Baking Co
5.0
In 2012 childhood friends Molly & Andrea started Antoinette Baking Co. in a small space in Tulsa’s Brookside neighborhood. Molly realized her passion for baking during her pursuit of the perfect macaron, which is documented in her blog (it was 2009 & blogs were life) The Velvet Macaron. This obsession is still alive & well. Andrea started making bread & cakes for friends & family at home which turned into making a 6 tier wedding cake for her sister. Needless to say she realized that was crazy & she couldn’t get enough. The bakery moved to the Tulsa Arts District in 2015 & has loved growing with the community. Being a part of everyday celebrations is why we love opening our doors each morning.

Because Sora is vegan, in 2011 they came to the vegan friendly city of Vancouver. Sora started to host poetry reading events with vegan food made by Hiro. Sora asked Hiro if she could make vegan custard puddings for the event. Hiro created a vegan pudding recipe and it was huge success! After that anyone who tried the pudding wanted to try it again. Sora and Hiro decided to start catering. As the catering numbers grew, they decided to start the small take-away window pudding shop. Now their pudding is available at many restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores.
After spending over a decade in NYC real estate marketing, Legally Addictive founder Laura Shafferman was suddenly laid off and bound by a non-compete clause that prohibited her from working with other firms. Laura had lost her usual means to earn a living for a full year and was determined to take control over her future. Fatefully, after making a batch of her favorite childhood cookies for a party, a friend suggested she come sell her amazing “cracker cookies” at a holiday market. After selling out in only a few hours, she knew they were a hit and a new business was born! She spent the next year learning the food business at night and during the day, worked as an in-house caterer. Eleven months later, a few stores in New York City agreed to carry Legally Addictive, including the flagship location of Dylan’s Candy Bar. At the time, Laura was making the cookies in the off-hours of a bakery in Brooklyn, often until well past midnight, and then delivering them on the subway and on foot. Fast forward to six years later and Legally Addictive has now built its own production kitchen in Asheville, NC, has a team of 12 and is carried in over 2000 retailers and hotels in North America. The company has been featured on Good Morning America, Fox & Friends, FoodNetwork.com, and in a Tastemade video with over 10 million views.
Mindfoods started from Miria Huber and Mariana Veras personal journey of self-improvement combining the benefits of mindfulness and natural food. They were always naturally curious and practical, intrigued about the dynamics of body and mind, and shared a strong love for natural foods. At Mindfoods, food is the foundation of health, and mindfulness is the act of bringing one's attention to the present. Mindfoods understands the importance of being present when sharing a meal with loved ones, nourishing your body after a workout, or simply snacking. With a daily busy routine though, society no longer nourishes itself healthily and holistically. Mariana and Miria came up with a product that addresses the practicality our everyday lives need, is made of pure, organic, ancient foods, and is flavourful and nourishes the mind and the body. A chia pudding that is not your everyday chia pudding. It is an easy breakfast, snack, on-the-go meal option.
Beneva Mayweather Foods is a food product development company specializing in creating food products based on the founder's grandmother Beneva Mayweather. After her passing in 2000 and after graduating from Morehouse in 2003; Daniel Watson, Beneva's youngest of only 3 grandchildren, embarked on the journey to create a food product line that honored the culinary legacy of Beneva Mayweather. Beneva was a caterer of not just the who's who in Memphis, TN, but her passion for preparing fine Southern cuisine from scratch, and her love for impeccable customer service touched the lives of people from all walks of life, backgrounds, sex, race, and creed. When she passed in 2000 it was tough on the family. Her eldest daughter, Emma Mayweather Lincoln, who was already the primary care giver of Daniel since he was in 4th grade, Daniel's biological Aunt, and Beneva's business partner in the catering business performed what could only be described as magic. Along with assistance from her A-Team and her widowed Father Emma ran the business, got her daughter through law school, and ensured Daniel graduated college. She alongside her best friend Denise Suggs also wrote a cookbook honoring Beneva's Culinary Legacy. Daniel then founded Beneva Mayweather Foods. He developed seasonings. He went from selling out of the trunk of his car to being on Kroger shelves. He then ran out of money. He didn't quit. He just pivoted into baking Beneva's famous artisan yeast rolls and cinnamon rolls.

It all started out in Holland, where founder Chantal Piët grew up. When she was a little girl, her grandmother, or Oma, introduced Chantal to stroopwafels. Chantal loved the way that the gooey caramel syrup was spread between two waffles - especially when it was heated over a cup of coffee or in the oven. In 2015, Chantal and her husband decided to move to the United States in search of adventure. They realized that sharing stroopwafels with people they met, allowed them to share a little bit of themselves, while they learn more about others. And thus, StroopClub was born. Avid scuba divers and hikers, the pair knew from the beginning that if they wanted to feel good about what they were creating, they would need to make sure they pursued the most eco-friendly business practices. At their core, stroopwafels are an ode to a zero-waste lifestyle. They were created as a use for a Dutch baker's leftover dough scraps. We strive to continue in this ideal and leave as little waste as possible by using repurposed packaging as much as possible and sustainable business practices. We spend our whole lives to make connections to and learn from others. That is why our central value in whatever direction we go, we aim to connect with others and to remain a bridge between cultures, people, and stories. "We hope that our stroopwafels will be a little aid for you to make new connections, share stories and make memories or at least, adds a little sweetness to your day!" - Chantal -

Laine & Lola Confection Co. brings to life the love of Filipino food prepared by the women in their family over the last century. Our story begins with “Laine” is Elaine Schober, the company founder & creator of PONPON Artisan Polvoron cookies and “Lola”, Elaine’s inspiration and grandmother who lived to her 100th year (1922- JAN 2022). PONPON Artisan Polvoron was created based on Lola’s original polvoron recipe brought to Canada when she immigrated in 1978. (At that time, Lola being new to the country and unable to find work, cooked authentic Filipino food out of her home for her community to make a living while caring for her grandchildren one of whom is Elaine.) After Lola had immigrated to Canada from the Philippines in 1978, she would traditionally make our family polvoron cookies during the Christmas season. When she turned 90, she decided to pass down all her recipes to me, her grand-daughter. This is when I saw and tasted in her polvoron cookies an opportunity to create a truly unique, gourmet dessert. Working with Lola’s recipe, I built off her original formula and created something new. The results were wonderful and Lola approved, too! Now, I’m delighted to be able to share our PONPONs with you. Every PONPON Artisan Polvoron cookie is made by hand. Though the recipe has evolved over time, the two most important ingredients that Lola never left out are still there in everyone - love and care.
