My name is Bo Sapphire. I am a photographer and mix-media based artist based in Los Angeles, California. My current art practice explores cyanotype printmaking and painting and utilizes the unique flora and light of Los Angeles as inspiration. My botanical prints are documents of local plants' intimate relationship with the sun. Cyanotype is a photographic process that developed in the early 18th century. The chemical is reactive to ultraviolet light. I apply the solution on watercolor paper and place the flowers/plants onto the paper then expose them in the sun. Most subjects I used in my art were collected in my neighborhood in Los Feliz, LA.
