PLEASE READ We are a small team of 3 full-time makers. I (Janna, creator of CC) am still the primary glaze/luster artist, which means more is on my plate at all times. After starting Curious Clay on Faire in 2020, I have been perpetually inundated with orders and inquiries. We produce and ship orders as fast as we can I am also the mother of a 5-year-old, who has been & continues to be by my side everyday of studio life. This comes with obvious limitations, as the needs of my daughter always come first, making my workflow somewhat choppy, as you can imagine. I love what I do, and I am so grateful for the community support I've gotten from Faire. -------- Curious Clay was born out of an intense love of the handmade form and the desire to make attainable art objects. As a former painter, the presence of the artist's hand in my works is very important to me. Both the clay form and the glaze application retains the gesture from my hand. Being somewhat self-taught, my work is primarily slab-built with some element of hand forming. I hope my works can live in their new homes, and be apart of the slower moments in the day; whether it's your morning cup of coffee or afternoon meditation. I find great joy in creating one of a kind pottery, and my hope is that that joy comes through.

Half Light Honey is the functional ceramics design brand of artist Samantha Carter. Working from her home studio, Samantha creates unique, functional ceramic designs, wearables, and fine art for the home. She received her B.F.A. in Studio Art and Art History minor from Florida State University in 2011 and still practices a multi-disciplinary approach to art-making. When she isn't getting muddy, covered in paint, squinting into a camera viewfinder, or carving a new block print, she is hiking, mountain biking, and spending time with her 6 year old daughter. Together they enjoy collecting natural curiosities and memories in the beautiful and diverse temperate landscapes of the Blue Ridge Mountains and deep south.
