When I first started making the men’s section for Bou By Savon, the inspiration came when me and my brother Eddy and I were kids. I always wanted to dress like him. Sometimes, even be like him. Reality was, I'd rather be in pants, shorts, tees or a pullover hoodie. Our men’s section is dedicated to my brother Eddy and our younger brother David. My mom didn’t have the most money to buy us clothes growing up as a single mom. As part of Bou By Savon, we plan to donate to families once we raise enough money to do so. We’re not done yet. I didn’t just plan on clothes for the guys. Ladies, I know how it feels to be browsing in the men’s department and wished the sizing was tailored to woman also. I’m in the process of making that happen for you. Progoti is a Toronto-based social enterprise that makes casual, staple designs while helping improve the lives of garment workers in Bangladesh. Our goal is to spark a positive change in the fashion industry by establishing a direct grassroots link between garment workers and the people wearing their creations. Progoti means progress in Bengali. It’s the heritage of our founder and where we make our impact. Bangladesh is the world’s second-largest clothing manufacturer, and the 2013 Rana Plaza tragedy unveiled the unsafe and negligent conditions for garment workers, claiming over 1,100 lives. Remake is a wealth of information on this topic. We partner with sewing shops that prioritize safe working conditions and look after their workers' wellbeing. However, the industry itself does not grant garment workers a safety net for their retirement. Progoti addresses this issue through an alternative pricing model: We empower customers with the choice to make voluntary contributions that fund the purchase of retirement policies for the seamstresses making their clothes. Our bottom line does not limit our impact because we prioritize the prosperity of our seamstresses and community. We are weaving a safety net with you, our friends, and improving the industry from the bottom-up. We believe that the joint efforts of many can yield more power together, and we cannot do that without you.

This is our art form, and our passion lies in transcending the ordinary. We create artisan finishes that have become the hallmark of our signature style. Level 7 men’s jeans are denoted by the highest quality, while offering the expressive washes of assertive, forthcoming street style. Level 7 denim crafted from fine yarn and tightly woven by the most advanced machinery for a smooth finish. It then is dip dyed and mercerized, a process that causes the dark, rich indigo dye to deeply absorb into the yarn, retaining its color longer and producing the lustrous sheen associated with luxury denim. This also diminishes any redistribution of dye from the garment onto furniture or other clothing. Ultimately, this creates a better canvas on which to splash our artistic washes. Experience Matters.
