Backporch Coffee Roasters started on a skateboard, in an alley, in Eugene Oregon. It was there that skate contests were held while coffee roasted on Dave’s backporch. You could smell coffee roasting down the block. Backporch Coffee Roasters is born and raised Bend. Owner and operator, Dave Beach has been buying and roasting coffee for 16 years. Dave is passionate about bringing the best out in coffees (and people) and making sure that those who grow the coffee, are compensated fairly for their work. From seed to cup, coffee is a crop that requires many hands to make complete. Backporch is very committed to excellence in each step of that process. We have direct trade connections in Central America, South America and Africa that we work closely with to accomplish that. Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii was born on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1989 with the dream of sharing American-grown, premium Hawaiian coffee from Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Moloka’i, Kona and Ka’u with coffee lovers everywhere. It didn’t take long for the legend of Bad Ass to reach the mainland as tourists began to bring their new favorite coffee, hats and t-shirts home while spreading the word about their awesome Hawaiian Bad Ass experience. The first mainland store was opened in 1995, in Salt Lake City and our ‘ohana started growing from there. We opened the doors to our first cafe in downtown Greenville, SC on February 11, 2015 with pennies in the bank and a line out the door. And we've been obsessing over hosting and roasting ever since! We carry around 10-15 different coffees at any one time and roast these coffees to highlight the natural flavours within them. Quality - Everything that is roasted here at Eclipse is freshly roasted to order so you can rest assured that the coffee you are receiving is as fresh as possible upon arrival. For each coffee you will find a detailed description of how it is roasted and how we think that coffee is best brewed. Sustainability - All of our coffees go through an independent screening process to ensure the coffee is not only grown environmentally responsibly, but also in a socially responsible way. Rest assured that our single origin coffee is sourced from only the best farms around the world and we reward these great farms by paying above the market price to help them further develop their coffees and also provide support to their local communities.
