SUSTAINABLITY We feel it is our duty to leave the lightest footprint possible. We are committed to sourcing more sustainable materials in our production process. Currently, we use recycled nylon (RPET) material for the outer material. Our goal is to use waste-plastic thread for the embroidery with organic cotton, hemp or canvas.

We make bags and accessories that, like a haiku poem, bring beauty and intention to the everyday by providing what’s necessary — no more, no less. It began in Berkeley, California, in 2003. After adopting her daughter from Japan, new mother Sharon Eisenhauer couldn’t find a diaper bag that fit her personal style. Undaunted, creative, and handy with a sewing machine, she prototyped her own and Haiku was born. Now headquartered in Seattle, we're still women owned and led, and every product we make is designed to support active women in living their fullest lives. We create nature-inspired products while lessening our use of virgin materials in our products and packaging. Starting in 2020, all of our new production items use recycled zippers and FSC-certified packaging. Our goal is to use 100 percent recycled content by 2025. Not only are Haiku bags durable, organized, and beautiful—they also keep plastic out of landfills. Each bag recycles an average of nine post-consumer plastic bottles.
