We sell skincare products and sunscreen that are so safe, you can eat it! My life changed when I discovered the healing powers of animal-based nutrition. After trying the carnivore diet, I lost 40 pounds and had a spark of inspiration: animal-based nutrition could translate to animal-based skincare. I realized that most skincare products were toxic and filled with highly processed seed oils. I was frustrated that I was stuck using plant-based, ineffective, and potentially harmful sunscreens. This experience drove me to create accessible, irritant-free, high-performance, and SAFE sunscreen products designed for all skin types (especially sensitive ones!) using the magical properties of tallow.

Flipping through her family's recipe book, she found a skin cream recipe from her great, great Grandmother from Sicily. She was hoping to find something to heal his psoriasis. After two years of tinkering with ingredients, they found the benefits of cold-pressed hemp seeds to be unmatched by any other carrier oil. They started using mineral water from a hot spring known to have the second-highest mineral contact in the world. He started to see his psoriasis disappear. They quit their day jobs and started going to farmer's markets. The next year, hospitals were replacing their steroid creams with their organic + natural cream. Fast forward 10 years later, they have been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, People, Allure, Rolling Stones, Refinery29, US Weekly, and countless other national magazines and blogs. Hello there! As we searched for a sunscreen partner, that's when we realized why skin cancer is more diagnosed than all other cancers combined: sunscreen sucks. We determined that the best way to fight skin cancer was to create a sunscreen people would actually want to wear. Bask was born from that goal. Solar Buddies was an idea that came from a issue both Kelli and Laura had whilst their kids were in Nursery. Their children were struggling to apply their sunscreen whilst at school and due to no touch policies in place in most schools, teachers could not assist. So that left the children with messy hands, messy uniforms or even unprotected children. So, they knew they needed to find a solution. And so the Solar Buddies idea was born. Solar Buddies applicator is a refillable, reusable applicator. It can be filled with a sunscreen choice and with its sponge and roller ball combination, it allows for an easy and mess free application. 2014 Solar Buddies was set up and has now sold globally over 100k units
