In 2001, Gretty Zueger left her job as an engineer at a software company to follow a passion she had since she was young, starting her own clothing company being a mom of two. Zueger was excited to start a second career as an entrepreneur. After noticing that many major fashion brands sold basic or generic designs at a high price. Zueger started her own clothing company, creating designs using high-quality materials. Pima cotton, and silk the finest fibers are used to create luxuriously soft as well long-lasting collections. Zueger, originally from Peru, wanted to give back to her native country by doing her manufacture textile there. Loyal Gretty Zueger customers are always on alert of the arrival of the new collection. After almost 20 years Zueger continues to produce fashion that is romantic, feminine, and figure-friendly, flows silks, stretch panels, and hand-cut patterns provide forever customer flattering-fit. The creator, designer, and artist of this lively company is Maureen Bradshaw. Lovbird is the realization of her artistic free spirit combined with a heart-felt belief that, for the sake of this planet, we all need to live more mindfully. Maureen began her career as a graphic designer/creative director who, for a decade, co-owned a successful award-winning Toronto design firm. With her passion for design, painting, typography and nature, a hands-on silkscreening course was the impetus she needed to begin her journey combining fabric with art. When the “fabric” became beautifully soft, organic cotton tees, Lovbird became a reality. Maureen leads the design and direction of the company and fulfills her passion by designing each new garment and thoughtfully creating and selecting her favourite drawings and quotes for each new piece. All original art and design is done in Toronto as well as pattern making and silk-screening. The patterns are sent to our fair trade factory in India to complete custom organic cotton t-shirts and sweatshirts with eco-friendly dyes. Fun fact: The most recent sweatshirt and jacket patterns were inspired by Maureen's favourite vintage wool sweaters.

Textiles artist and fashion designer with a focus on Shibori fabric dyeing and textile manipulation, Rachael has been a working artist since 2014, after graduated with her BFA in Fashion Design from Columbia College Chicago. Her love of clothing construction and manipulating textiles has blossomed into an ever changing art-to-wear collection. The brand name ARAE is a play on words, deriving from Rachael's nickname, Rae, and the word 'array' - an impressive display of things. Under her brand, she prioritizes zero waste design, and works with different kinds of silk and wool. ARAE has been sold in many independently owned boutiques and museum shops across the US. Rachael also takes her brand across the country to prestigious handmade shows, and has sold online with large retailers such as Free People, Artful Home, and Uncommon Goods. Rachael loves creating pieces of wearable art that allow her customers to express their own creative styles with every wear. What is Shibori? Shibori is the Japanese word for a variety of ways of embellishing textiles by shaping cloth and securing it before dyeing. The word comes from the verb root shiboru, “to wring, squeeze, press.”

SORI is focused on specialty knitwear sustainably produced with the WHOLE-GARMENT knitting technique using natural fibers with a minimalist design. Through the WHOLE-GARMENT technique, we can create seam-free constructed apparel that captures designed for ease of mobility, comfort, elegance, and finesse in style. The WHOLE-GARMENT technique is an adaptation of 3D printing technology into a knitting method to make a garment without seams.
