With over 15 years of experience in fabric development and R&D, TAB N SHIFT founder, Ellen Won, was quickly inspired when she came across an overlooked interesting fabric ( Eco- frienly PEL POLY™ ). Ellen saw value in the unique, lightweight fabric and started to using it to solve a problem- designing a perfect everyday bag. Like the fairy tale of the Ugly Duckling, this material had a potential to evolve into a beautiful product. Big sister Ellen and her three sisters are the badass dream team here with the similar background in fashion, consider themselves as the main character of the Ugly Duckling, believing that NOT-ENOUGH can make the BEST. Enlisting the power of four sisters, designers, Monica, Jenny, and Rose, they got to contribute their own background and bring inspirations to this brand. Co-existence of different life styles are well mingled with its style and functionality. They each reside in Austin,TX, New York and Seoul, Korea. They set to create a bag with a similar essence and versatility. After several prototypes, Ellen and her sisters created a beautiful, functional, eco-friendly bag from a raw recycled material that projected a distinctive elegance. In the spirit of the fairy tale and journey, every purchase comes in an Ugly Duckling logo, recycled Tyvek®protective bag.
