Orchid Hearts Design began by accident. I was expecting my first child and was shopping for the necessities that every new Mom should have. I was not impressed with the options for Diaper bags: Why were they all so unfashionable and plain?  Discussions with my friends revealed the same thoughts: Why do we have to carry something so generic? We were not quite ready to say goodbye to our designer handbags, but knew that we would not want to carry a handbag and diaper bag.   Handbags are often a woman’s most important accessory, and that handbag goes everywhere with us! Any bag we carry has a difficult job, especially a diaper bag. A diaper bag is responsible for carrying some of our most important necessities for our tiny VIP.  There are a multitude of things that need to be carried when out with your baby! Your diaper bag must keep you ultra organized and the things you need accessible. And I thought, “Why can’t it do so while making a Mom feel beautiful and elegant?” Our goal is to design beautiful bags that make you feel great and help you stay organized. We know that you probably will not forget your designer handbag that is temporarily stored away. But our diaper bags are designed as a fashion accessory so you will not miss it so much! We will be continually innovating and providing more options to those Moms that are looking for something different, something new, something fresh. This is us We traveled from Berlin to Tokyo in 2019 and fell in love with this crazy city with almost 26 million inhabitants. We brought all sorts of gadgets to Berlin, including fake food products. No country in the world knows how to deal with the subject as well as the artists in Japan. We got hold of the best manufacturers through a Japanese friend in Berlin and since the end of 2021 we have had our oishy keychains cast and painted by hand in Osaka & Tokyo. By the way, OISHY means delicious in Japanese. With our unique keychains, we wanted to attach good taste to your bunch of keys.

We specialize in retro inspired motel keychains made with genuine USA leather and heavy, solid brass keychains. The sayings you will find on our pieces may seem over-the-top and crude, but are guaranteed to brighten your day! Everything in our shop is made in our backyard studio located in South Carolina.

Anyone can create a product that solves a problem OR makes people feel good about themselves. Sisters-in-law, Lisa Harrington and Kimberly Martinez, were inspired to create a product line that does both. Their mission began 19 years ago. Lisa worked as a pediatric nurse and was required to wear an employee ID badge. Her 8 year-old daughter Katie created a beaded necklace for her mom to wear so she could “remember her” while she was at work. Lisa clipped her ID to the beaded necklace and a new product category was born! Her co-workers at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital loved the concept and were clamoring for one of their own. Lisa and Katie created a cottage business making and selling these beaded ID necklaces that allowed for creative expression and personality at work, replacing the boring “shoe lace” style lanyards and badge reels provided by the hospital security department. Lisa shared the overwhelming response to her ID necklaces with her sister-in-law Kimberly, at a family Christmas dinner. Kimberly, a former Fortune 50 executive and mother of 3 who had been downsized as a result of the events of 9/11, saw a huge business opportunity in Lisa’s story. Fueled by adrenaline and outline a rough business plan on the back of a Christmas card envelope. The following morning she convinced Lisa that they needed to free working women around the world from the fashion disaster that comes from wearing an employee ID badge and Bonitas International was born!
