Since 1986, our determination has been total to safeguard the salt marshes of the Île de Ré. In 1994, we founded the company “Spirit of Salt”. This company corresponds to our commitment to maintaining and safeguarding the heritage value of the marshes. The aim is to revalue culturally and economically products from the traditional salt marsh: sea grey salt and fleur de sel from the Île de Ré Our challenge: to develop and market high quality, original and varied “marine” products with the central theme of the salt marsh and the sea; products that claim respect for a tradition, that claim to be of artisanal value and answer an ecological question. “We have established the objective of developing a range of salt flowers and sea salts with spices 100% organic from typical products of the island of Ré, and the promotion of the qualitative image of the island through its regional products in France and abroad”.
