I have always loved to be in the kitchen, it is the place where I am most energized and creative. I grew up in the kitchen, like when I was three and would make “recipes”-ultimately a mishmash of ingredients resulting in an inedible concoction that got me in a lot of trouble; to learning to help my mom and aunt cook holiday meals and maturing into being able to cook my husband one heck of a date night meal. I love the kitchen, I love to cook, the only thing I love more is a good adventure. And that confluence is where Giddy Up Nuts was born. About ten years ago I was driving home from a weekend of adventure at California’s favorite playground, Mammoth Mountain. As I surveyed the store, filled with sugary, processed, fatty snacks, I thought that there must be a better way to snack on the road. Fuel for your everyday wanderings, whether it was something to munch on the way to work or keep you going on an epic adventure. Our customers love Giddy Up’s unique flavors, fresh, all-natural ingredients, and eye-catching packaging. It is one of our core values to support other small makers as well, which is why we craft our snacks with ingredients such as Red Beard’s hot sauce from Long Beach, CA and Rogue Creamery’s blue cheese (voted best in the world!) When I’m not in the kitchen dreaming up new flavors, you can find me hiking with my golden retriever, Chip, skiing in Mammoth with my husband, or adventuring to new places, always of course, with Giddy Up Nuts in hand.

They are an addictive snack that will satisfy your craving for a sweet treat that does not have to be at odds with healthier lifestyle choices. In an effort to be as inclusive as we can our products contain no gluten, no dairy, are vegan and oil free. We use real cane sugar and not corn syrup and try to source organic spices whenever possible. The only allergen is nuts ( of course). Enjoy!

Larry Monahan was the owner of a restaurant in Wakefield, Virginia. It was the fall of 1949 and the local peanut crop would soon be harvested. A peanut broker came to him and suggested he start roasting and promoting the local cash crop. Larry, or Daddy-O as he was known, came up with a recipe to roast the peanuts using a process of soaking in hot water before oil roasting. The result was a super-crunchy, irresistible peanut that would soon change the snack nut world forever. Our products are still made with the same time-honored recipe that has made our nuts famous for over 70 years. Thanks Daddy-O for giving us this to share with the world!

John and Frank Germack (Sr.) came to America through New York’s Ellis Island in 1912 at the ages of 12 and 7, respectively. Longing for a taste of their homeland, the brothers started a business in Brooklyn, then in New York City to sell traditional food imports to the growing population of Turkish, Greek and Eastern Europeans making their way to the US. Frank Germack Sr. focused the company entirely on the import and roasting of Pistachios as well as other nuts, including Brazils, Cashews and Pignolia (Pine) nuts. Many of these nut varieties were also new to the US. In the ’50 and 60’s, the company moved from the regional market to a national producer of nuts. By the 1960’s, the Germack’s were importing 20,000 tons of pistachios, or more than 40% of the entire crop of three exporting countries. The company has endured into the third generation, and now the fourth generation of Germacks. With changing consumer tastes, Germack Pistachio has added over 100 new products including dried fruits and healthy mixes, in addition to gourmet chocolate covered nuts and special Christmas items. We are also one of the nation’s largest producers of squash (pumpkin) and sunflower seeds.

Popcorn has long been considered a food group in our family. From the time we were young girls, growing up on a farm in central Wisconsin, to today, where you will find us in the kitchen at It's Poppin, we have been surrounded by popcorn. What started out as a nightly ritual of gathering around a big bowl of popcorn (sometimes instead of sit down family dinner) to the building of a gourmet popcorn store in our hometown in 2011, It's Poppin is now offering our most popular popcorn flavors and our famous Sassy Seasoned Pretzels to you through wholesale. Liv loves high-quality food products and has a deep passion for food. She graduated from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Piemonte, Italy. The University was founded by Slow Food, a non-profit organization set to educate consumers on the importance of maintaining traditional food practices. She discovered the traditional way to hand roast nuts through her partner. She couldn’t get enough of the product and wanted to share this elevated food experience with others. She believes that the small-batch roasting technique and high-quality ingredients make for the most delicious roasted almonds and cashews.
