About Top Note Tonic

We invent - you create! Our mixers and soft drinks are made for the creative types to really play. Why? Because the founders invented these flavors just for that purpose. Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, founders Mary Pellettieri and Noah Swanson have drawn upon their collective experiences, to change the way people think about- and enjoy- soft beverages. Mary and Noah started in 2014 began pouring through old recipes for tinctures. They formulated Top Note's original craft beverage concentrates, including a unique Bitter Orange syrup, based on these old world tinctures and sold them at local farmer's markets in Wisconsin. The response was so positive, the founders decided to bring their products to a broader audience, but stay true to the artisan take on soft drinks - Keep it real, keep it low in sugar and keep in interesting. In 2017, Top Note released their Indian Tonic, Ginger Beer and Bitter Lemon in sparling ready to serve formats. The Indian Tonic won the coveted Sofi award from the Specialty Food Association that year for Best New Mixer. Since, Top Note has continued to release new products, including their NY Times acclaimed Gentiana Tonic, and the mid-calorie soft drinks with artisanal takes. Top Note is serious about flavor, but also the environment. Therefore, all packaging we ship in is biodegradeable, and we reduced the packaging needed with e-comm shippers in 2020.
