The story of Gabriel Rivaz was born in 2017 during a meeting between the founder and a young woman passionate about sewing. She recovered her scraps of fabric to make watch straps to match her outfit. Their dream of connecting their love for watches with ready-to-wear turned out to be a big hit. Born following a dream, Gabriel Rivaz is today a watch and jewelry brand that offers timeless patterns while regularly releasing new patterns inspired by current clothing trends. Imbued with a mixture of solid materials and silk fabrics, our goal is to wear a watch day by day. In 1996 our company, Universal Watch Co., Inc., discovered the Boccia Titanium Watch line and became the distributors for the United States. Tense's founder, Ken Lau, has been designing and building clocks since the 60's when he moved to British Columbia. Inspired by his new surroundings in BC, Ken began experimenting with wood in his designs. In 1971 with his wood crafting skills honed, Ken launched Tense Watches. Before he started making wood watches in 1971, Ken worked with natural materials like stone in his clock designs. Today, Tense is operated by Ken's daughters Frances and Anna.
