The core of our company is a group of four professional tea-tasters, each specializing in a different tea-growing region of Asia. Every Spring since 1998, we travel to the tea gardens to select the premium leaves that make up our World famous catalogue. Discover the fresh taste our authentic and original teas have to offer.

Sanctuary T is a unique New York City based purveyor of fine whole and loose leaf teas.  We’re focused on bringing fresh, high quality teas in fun and unique flavors to beginners and connoisseurs alike. We showcase our teas as an ingredient in the food, as a mix for cocktails and, of course, in the traditional cup at our beautiful location in Soho. Our approach to tea is unique in that you don’t have to be an expert or even a tea drinker at all to appreciate our tea.  We show customers that it doesn’t have to be an “acquired taste” or consumed only “because it’s healthy”.  When customers have our tea, they enjoy tea for tea’s sake. Since we opened in 2007, our simple approach has garnered local and national media attention and has been featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine Hong Kong, Time Out New York, New York Times, and much more.  In March 2008, Zagat Buzz wrote an article about us entitled, “The Freshest Tea You’ll Ever Taste”.  And in June 2008 we were voted “Retailer of the Month” by Tea & Coffee Trade Publication.  In September 2008, our unique line of tea seasonings was introduced at Whole Foods Market Tribeca and announced in The New York Times.

Our coffees are freshly roasted with care to showcase the complex and unique flavors within each coffee. We aim to infuse your day with joy and life while giving back to the communities we’re a part of both locally and around the globe. We pride ourselves in sourcing the some of the finest specialty coffees available. Much of our coffee is direct sourced relationship coffee, meaning that we have long standing friendships with our coffee farmers who are not only producing amazing coffee, but also giving back and supporting their communities. We believe that the best way to help communities is through economic empowerment and by importing coffee direct from the source, it allows the farmers and their communities to grow and thrive. A portion of each sale will be donated to the coffee country of origin’s International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA) Chapters, along with a local contribution to Girls Inc of the Washington DC Metropolitan Area.

Ajiri means "To employ" in swahili. Ajiri aims to create employment for women in Kenya. Ajiri employs 60 women to handcraft each and every label for the tea and coffee boxes using dried bark from banana trees. The award-winning tea is handpicked from small farms in Kenya. 100% of the profits from the sale of Ajiri products go back to Kenya to pay school fees for orphans.

NovelTea is a proud, female-owned (mother-in-law and daughter-in-law team) East Coast Canadian Company based out of Truro, N.S. Established in 2014, NovelTea started as a bookstore that sold coffee and tea. However, we quickly realized that our community had a desire to enjoy their love of reading in different ways. Because of this, in 2016 we were inspired to start creating and selling our own book-themed products in the NovelTea cafe with great success. In 2020, a devastating fire destroyed our original bookstore-cafe location, which prompted us to re-imagine the potential of the bookstore side of our business and what it could offer the book community. This is when we made the decision to open our standalone bookstore. We also realized that there are many small, independent bookstores just like us who would benefit from carrying locally made, book-themed products for their own customers. Thus, our NovelTea Wholesale Collection was born. Many of our products are handcrafted at our headquarters in Truro.
