Following an exhaustive yet unsuccessful search to find well made and refined desktop products that are manufactured in the U.S., we decided to create our own. The Public - Supply mission is simple: to support creative work in our country’s public schools. Whether students are painting, acting, singing, writing, or coding, we believe that creativity helps students become more engaged in the classroom, at home, and in the world. Smaller budgets and an increasing emphasis on standardized test scores have lead to cuts in the resources devoted to the creative arts at both a national and local level. Talented, committed teachers often don’t have the materials they need for simple art projects -- stuff like blank paper, paintbrushes, and markers -- and some schools have had to cut entire departments. Public - Supply works to provide materials where they’re needed and bring together creative thinkers to create a community that supports our schools. Public - Supply is a for-profit company that channels 25% of profits from every sale to a teacher in a high-need classroom who will use the money for a project that drives creativity. FOLKUS represents the lived experience and contributions of Black folks across an array of domains. Our debut collection of wrapping paper rolls are multipurpose (e.g. gift wrap, surface cover/protection, decor, arts and crafts), double-sided and 25 square feet. No trees, water, bleach, harmful inks or acids are used in the manufacturing process of FOLKUS stone papers, which means no deforestation, no polluted waterways and instead reduced CO2 emissions and the usage of a sustainable material calcium carbonate. FOLKUS makes environmental stewardship easy, chic and functional.

INFO: Moglea is a design studio that creates modern paper and home goods, and was founded by Meg and Chad Gleason in 2012. The production team in their Iowa-based studio thoughtfully applies layers of paint to extra thick sheets of paper before cutting them down, yielding unique compositions. Each piece is finished on one of their antique presses where it is foil stamped, printed or die cut using traditional letterpress printing processes. Ecojot is a family-run business founded in 2007 by brother and sister team Mark and Carolyn Gavin. Their love for paper and great design has enabled them to create a sustainable brand made entirely in Toronto, Canada. Carolyn is a very successful artist/design (@carolynj) and creative director. Mark handles sales and marketing. Derek, Carolyn’s husband, runs production. Ecojot paper/board is a combo of recycled and carbon neutral paper. All inks and glues are vegetable based, and all black and kraft boards are sourced from sustainable suppliers in North America. Ecojot was awarded the Ancient Forest Friendly and Order of the Forest Awards by Canopy in 2012. Over the years, Ecojot has donated thousands of books to kids in need all over the world with the Buy 1 / Give 1 campaign.
