Have you ever tried something on and felt awful about yourself as a result? Several years ago I tried on a sports bra from a popular activewear brand, and I couldn't even fit it under my boobs (and I hadn't even had babies yet!). This experience left me feeling awful. I was convinced that I didn't want other women to have this same experience. This is when Joyleta was born. All of our activewear (nursing, maternity & beyond) is designed to be adjustable. For example, one of our medium nursing sports bras fits me well at 5'11, but it also fits well on my friend who is 5'1. We both feel amazing in it because it's adjustable, supportive, soft and stylish. I'm passionate about designing nursing and maternity activewear that gives the shock factor. What is the shock factor? When a mom comes out of the dressing room and she's shocked because the first Joyleta nursing sports bra she tried on fits so well and makes her feel amazing. And this is shocking, because it's not usually the case. This is my hope for all moms - to design activewear for them that boosts their confidence and reminds them that they DO belong, and that mainstream activewear has been failing their bodies (and not the other way around). Wang was in need of maternity wear that was comfortable, professional-looking and functional. Frustrated with the limited options available to her, the businesswoman and mama-to-be took it upon herself to start Emilia George.
