Michael Healy Designs is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business with over 30 years of experience in designing, manufacturing, and warehousing at our Rhode Island facility. Michael's Artistic Decorative Hardware is world renowned for its exceptional quality and craftsmanship. Each design is created by using the age-old art of sand casting. The Unique Door Knockers are cast in solid brass or iron, hand polished, and given a protective polyurethane coating. Most of his designs are available in multiple finishes to match any existing hardware and decor. Each year, new designs are released while others are retired, keeping our hardware at the forefront of style, function, and design. Michael was born and raised on the Cape Cod seashore. At the University of Notre Dame he studied metal sculpture and developed a passion for design. After a tour of duty in the United States Air Force, Michael chose to use his knowledge and interest in metalwork to open his own foundry on the banks of the Blackstone River in Rhode Island. He worked casting architectural bronze and restoring historic statues throughout New England before shifting focus to his own original artwork. Combining his knowledge of the foundry sand casting process and his own desire to create highly functional forms of art, Michael was inspired to develop his famous line of unique door knockers. Since then, he has been fulfilling his dream of making Artistic Decorative Hardware for your home.
