Making a product consistent with our values — good for the environment, made with the utmost attention to detail, and something that doesn't require work outside our normal laundry routine. We started with organic cotton fabric. We use non-toxic, skin-friendly, AZO-free ink on all of our products. Then, unlike most traditional manufacturing methods, we don’t use any excess water or create contaminated runoff during the process. We also weren’t willing to compromise on convenience or quality. That’s why our linens are easy-care, soft, machine washable, and naturally more stain and fade resistant than traditional cotton and linen. We proudly design all of products in Los Angeles, California and make them in India. That means we pay attention to the “little” things like reinforced mitered corners so our linens stand up better to constant use and repeated washes.

No two pieces are exactly alike. Starting with mud pies as a child in the backyard, my creativity includes tactile, intuitive, and deeply in-touch with nature ways of being in the world. I see myself as an apprentice in God's art studio of the natural world. The design of the world shimmers as a work of art that is full of metaphor, imprinted with the character of the Maker. It is my passion to share the shimmering beauty and deep truths I find in the creative medium that seems the most fitting. Those creative expressions include gardening, quilting, writing, painting, sketching, ceramics, dancing, creative coaching, podcasting, and family life with my husband and four children in the Atlanta, Georgia area. I am an artist with an inquisitive mind, a heart connected to nature, and a soul yearning towards God. . . a child of dirt and dance . . . a beauty-bringer blessing writer. . . a poetic painter and potter. I believe in the healing power of beauty - it speaks a truth about the goodness woven into the world. . . and as my mother often quotes Keats: "A thing of beauty is a joy forever!"

My name is Morgan Gilbreath and I am a glass artist based out of Richmond, Virginia. I create collections of kiln-cast and faceted glass vessels (salt cellars, catch-all dishes, & platters) for the home in a variety of colors, sizes, and styles.  The result of this creative process is a series of sustainable, handmade objects that exist in the service of a joyful contemporary life. Yalala is a Zapotec and Queer owned retailer and publisher based in Los Angeles, California. Yalala is a phonetic simplification of our previous name Yeaj Yalhalhj meaning "the flower from the valley of scattered mountains" in our native Zapotec language (Bene Wurash). At Yalala, our mission is to preserve, promote, and disseminate the rich traditions of Indigenous ceramicists from Oaxaca, Mexico. The artists we work with reveal the dedication and ancestral knowledge required to reflect the cultural identity and beauty of ceramics. They do so by creating “ancient” pottery through inherited knowledge of identifying minerals in soils, foraging clay from nature to make into materials, and creating homemade kilns. This self-sustaining cultural knowledge is being threatened by deforestation and commodification, therefore it is crucial that there be a project from within the Indigenous community here in Los Angeles. It is necessary to share native voices to prevent erasure and we strongly believe that generations of oral history are embedded in our roster of artists.
