Hello, I’m Lindsay the founder and designer at The Black Rabbit. My charming and colourful greeting cards all have a little badge as part of the design, an extra present for the recipient to keep and enjoy. The range includes the bestselling nature-inspired paper Animal Decoration Kits, designed to be easy to make. They’re decorated with my original patterns that will look beautiful in your store and your customers’ walls. From my seaside studio in Kent I started The Black Rabbit in 2006 making a whole range of products that were influenced by my training in knitwear design, lots of stripey things with plenty of colour. The business name came from the rare black rabbits you can spot on the Shetlands, where my husband and I got married. I began by approaching shops and was delighted that my first customer was Liberty of London. I have since sold my products to stores worldwide including Anthropologie USA and The Wellcome Collection. My range really developed over time, as I discovered what people really loved most were my colourful, patterned illustrations of animals and nature. I’m always warmed by the cheery responses from customers, who I hope can feel the happiness that goes into designing them. The cards and printed kits appeal to all ages, making them stand out from other products on the market. Designed, made and printed in the UK, on FSC sustainable card, they are supplied with coloured envelopes and eco-compostable packaging.
