Milly Marie is a high quality, classic apparel brand made from luxurious Peruvian Pima cotton. Milly Marie was founded in 2017 while our founder, Angee McDonald, began searching for Peruvian Pima cotton for her grand daughter on a trip to Lima, Peru. Based on years of caring for foster babies, Angee knew that Pima was sustainable for years of wear as well as organic in nature and perfect for sensitive skin. She reached out to multiple manufacuters in Peru; one business woman returned her email and invited her to come visit. Upon her visit, she learned the business and also the mission behind the company to improve the lives of women in Peru. This inspired Angee to start Milly Marie. Her idea was to provide a sustainable, quality, sustainable product for mothers and children to enjoy; and in return help the Peruvian women earn a living wage. It is a win - win! Look closely - many of the Milly Marie pieces have our signature hand-stitched hummingbird. The hummingbird is our symbol of help and hope, hand-embroidered by local Peruvian women who work passionately to support their families. How we "do what we can" to help: -100% of our embroidery cost is returned to the artist to pay a living wage. -We utilize a small group production strategy benefitting local women. -We make heirloom-quality, sustainable, made to last clothing.
