Prairie Fruits Farm & Creamery was founded in Champaign, Illinois in 2003 to convert our land from cash crops to a regenerative, sustainable goat dairy. We introduced carbon-sequestering pastures and a perennial silvopasture model that integrates trees and shrubs for our herd of happy Nubian and La Macha goats. Their sweet milk is the secret to our award-winning goat cheese! Chèvre (2022 ACS Gold Medal, 2023 ACS Bronze Medal, 2024 ACS Gold Medal), Feta (2023 ACS Bronze medal, 2024 ACS Gold Medal), Moonglo (2023 ACS Bronze medal), Fleur de la Prairie (2021 Good Food Winner, 2022 ACS Gold Medal), Ukrainian Farmers Cheese (2024 ACS Bronze Medal) We attained Animal Welfare Approved status in 2010 and continue to diligently improve our herd's health and our own cheese-making skills. Along with our own goat's milk, we purchase pasture-raised Jersey milk from the neighboring family farm up the road and make a wide selection of goat's milk cheeses, cow's milk cheeses and mixed-milk varieties. The care and effort we take in nurturing our animals and land comes through in the amazing flavor of our cheeses.
