They wanted to share their love for the traditional Turkish peshtemal towels with the rest of the world. These lightweight, absorbent towels were a staple of Turkish culture and had been used for centuries in bathhouses, spas, and hammams. They knew that peshtemal towels were not only functional but also beautiful. They came in a wide variety of colors and patterns, and their soft, luxurious texture made them perfect for lounging on the beach, by the pool, or even in your own backyard. He decided to create a brand that would showcase the beauty and versatility of these towels and bring them to a wider audience. And so, their peshtemal beach towels business was born. They worked tirelessly to create a line of towels that were not only practical but also stylish and eco-friendly. They used only the highest quality cotton and natural dyes to create a range of colors and patterns that were inspired by the rich history and culture of Turkey. The possibility of sharing them with you, showing the piece of the antique Aegean culture is the main reason we started Kalkedon Towels. Our towels come from a little town in Western part of Turkey. We are so happy to work with people from a small community. We believe, people around us, are the most important and we should care about each other. Our peshtemals/ Turkish towels are lightweight and portable which makes them quite proper in a beach, travel but also thicker than many others which makes them perfect fit as a shawl or throw blanket for chilly nights. Our plush/oversized bath towels are weaved withTurkish cotton ring spun yarns on traditional jacquard looms. Therefore, it is long-lasting and not easily deformed. The towels are dyed with organic and traditional dyeing techniques.
