Piece Dyeing - Each KOMPANERO bag is individually piece-dyed. Piece-dyeing limits or negates the need for stocking large amounts of inventory, reduces wastage of leather as well as water. Instead of tanning whole sheets of leather, we only dye the exact amount of leather needed piece by piece, thereby increasing the cutting yield leading to lesser wastage. Piece-dyeing also leads to much lesser effluent and pollutants as compared to traditional dyeing. Natural Inside and Out - Our philosophy is to be all-natural. Not only is the exteriors of our products pure leather, but even our interior linings are also made of cotton, thus reaffirming our commitment to nature and the environment.

Nukan is a company founded by me, Outi Ansamaa, a Finnish textile designer. I have always appreciated craftsmanship and handmade work. It is an integral part of Finnishness and it is an integral part of myself as well. For my part, I also want to protect nature and its diversity. I am not in favor of fast fashion, but I want the garment to be usable even years from now. I greatly appreciate high quality natural materials as they are long lasting and timeless. They are an ecological choice. I appreciate all kinds of craftsmanship. For me as an entrepreneur, it is important that both the making of the craft and the finished product are on an ethically sustainable basis.

Delanada empieza a gestarse en el año 2016 en Buenos Aires, Argentina, como rebelión contra la incompetencia de un grupo de amigos porteño al intentar ubicar Gran Canaria en el mapa. Ante esto, y después de estudiar durante un tiempo el excedente del principal alimento del argentino medio, en febrero de 2019 nace oficialmente Delanada Studio, el sueño de Fernando Cuyás, un grancanario, arquitecto de profesión, cansado de que su tierra no aparezca en los mapas y harto de los pocos conocimientos geográficos de sus amigos. Delanada no es más que una selección de cosas. Cosas de cuero hechas a mano, de manera completamente artesanal, con un martillo, dos agujas y mucha pasión. Una selección de cosas que surgen de la simple curiosidad, o necesidad, tanto mía como del cliente, y que se ven englobadas en el marco de una única colección. Atemporal, como también lo es la materia prima con la que se crea y que, debido a la limitada oferta presente en las islas, se presenta como una suerte de “frutas de temporada”, que hacen que prácticamente nunca se puedan conseguir dos piezas de piel iguales, haciendo de cada artículo un objeto único.

We strive to be environmentally sensitive by creatively designing most of our offerings with recycled, repurposed and reclaimed materials. We are an inventory-based model wholesaler. What that means to you is that if we are offering product, it is retail-ready finished and in our warehouse in Pennsylvania ready to be shipped within 24-48 hours and in most cases even sooner. We do not wait for you to order your goods and then manufacture them and ship them to you from overseas where often they get delayed in US Customs and it is nearly 6-8 weeks before you might see your product.

The Shebobo team consists of over 400 artisans that work in collectives around the countryside of Madagascar, an island east of Africa. Our products are made from all natural fibers, including raffia, rush, sisal & banana palm. These fibers are renewable, sustainable & biodegradable. The raw materials are hand dyed and prepared for looming by splitting the palm leaves into thread like balls of yarn for weaving or crocheting, using the same traditional weaving techniques learned over 100 years ago. These fibers are naturally dyed and woven into hats, bags and other accessories. Every accessory is unique, and there can be slight irregularities in the shade and shape of the bags due to the nature of its craftsmanship. Because each piece is hand-dyed the natural fibers may fade with time. With over 80% of the population of Madagascar living below the poverty level, it is imperative to support artisans with fair trade & fair wage practices to sustain families, communities & artisan traditions. Our artists are proudly paid fair wages to continue the tradition of artisanal handmade products. We are very proud to work with & support our family of artists.
