Hi, I’m Theresa, owner and founder of The Old White House. I have been making, repurposing and living a handmade life since I was a kid, and believe that our best chance at a healthy life is to use products that are both created with ingredients that come from the earth and leave as small of a carbon footprint as possible. My business began in Michigan, while I was on a journey to live a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle for both my family and our planet. After using my handmade eco friendly home care products for a while, I began taking them to local markets. In 2017 we moved to Washington, and I started selling my goods at Pike Place Market in Seattle, along with many local markets, it was at this time that I also shifted my focus to my self care products. The Comfort Wraps and Eye Pillows were such a hit at markets, that I started selling them wholesale, so that people everywhere could experience the comfort they bring. I now create all of my goods in my studio in Wenatchee, WA. alongside the beautiful Columbia River. The focus, when I am creating each of my natural products, is to use ingredients that are safe for you, your family and our planet. My youngest son was born in April 2020, right in the height of the pandemic. Immediately after he was born, he went straight to the NICU for breathing complications. He spent the first 9 days of his life in the NICU. Because of the pandemic, I had to leave my brand-new baby at the hospital overnight, not knowing what I was going to walk into the next day. Thankfully ,he pulled through and is the happiest, chunkiest little dude you’ll ever meet. Because of that mess, and my back-to-back pregnancies… I was heavily affected by postpartum depression. My poor husband tried to do everything he could to just get me to smile. One night we had a long talk and he asked me to explain how I was feeling. The best I could come up with was, “I just feel like a bruise. Ugly, annoying, sensitive, useless. My pain is deep.” That night brought a lot of breakthrough in my PPD journey. I began searching for ways to climb out of this funk. This is where my daily affirmations came in. Every day throughout the day, I said these affirmations to myself. I am worthy. I am capable. I am enough. I wanted to come up with a way to share these affirmations with other women who may also be struggling with anxiety and depression, but I wanted to do it in a creative way. Thus, The Affirmation Candle Line was born. Mav Wicks goal is to destigmatize the talk of depression. We want everyone to know that they are enough. They are worthy. They are capable.

Manready Mercantile was created in November of 2012 by Travis S. Weaver, a small town guy originally from Zephyr, Texas.
