Sole Paper Co. was established in 2018 by Eva Tadros out of a craving for more than digital art behind a computer screen and a yearning to feel physical work at her fingertips. With a background in graphic design and years of corporate branding at companies such as Jack in the Box to medical device brands, the art of letterpress has provided an outlet for her to focus on traditional printing that has been sadly lost in the corporate setting. You may have heard that saying, “print is dead” …but we beg to differ! All pieces are printed on Nova, our 1916 Chandler and Price letterpress. She’s a beauty in every way. A letterpress business true and true, we pride ourselves on quality paper, unique designs, and exceptional customer service. With a design aesthetic that we consider modern and fresh, we ultimately want to create pieces that inspire a love for a transitional style that is forever evolving, paired with a touch of the past.

Ka'ala is an author, creative, and speaker living on the island of Maui with her husband and their two daughters. She is the voice and content creator behind @alohakaala on instagram. Her words reflect her faith in God, living authentically and intentionally, growing from and through grief, and celebrating life in gratitude. In addition to writing, Ka'ala is a baby wrangler, culture appreciator, and worship leader.

OUR JOURNEY It started at school. We were forever switching between pencils and highlighters when annotating textbooks. One day we came up with a simple hack to combine them, by taping a highlighter to a pencil. Soon we noticed our friends started doing the same thing. When we showed our parents, they went to get us a real product that would do the same thing. But they quickly found that none existed. So we decided to design one ourselves. The Annotator was born. WHAT’S IN A NAME? We called our all in one pencil and highlighter The Annotator, as our teachers were always telling us to annotate our books.. But we also wanted a brand name. We’ve always loved stationery, there’s just something about putting pencil to paper. We felt The Annotator was just the beginning. Since we were twin sisters, we decided to combine elements of our names. SOZY (SOphie and IzZY) was the result.

As a single mother raising two young children it was always difficult to make ends meet so between jobs Stevie would spend her time painting to make extra money. As joint problems began hindering her oil painting she found water color on card stock. Stevie Streck Designs came from modest beginnings as a part time job run out of the basement of her home then, as demand grew for her unique hand painted invitations, the part-time became full-time as the basement became the garage; which became a warehouse, and now an operation that serves all of the US, and many countries throughout the world. Stevie Streck Designs is one of the few companies in the industry today who's designs are adapted from her original artwork. Stevie Streck Designs is consistently recognized by its peers as one of the finest stationary designers in the market today evidenced by the fact that Stevie Streck has been the winner and nominee of many Louie Awards, the industry’s equivalent of the AcademyAwards. Stevie Streck is known by her clients and business relationships as a relentless hard worker, with a true love for people, and a love to create. Blythe and Grace were first introduced by their husbands who just knew they would get along splendidly, and they were not wrong! Just as quickly as the friendship grew so did their big ideas! The following years lead to the girls sharing an office in the beautiful "South of Broad" area of Charleston, SC. Surrounded by historic homes and charming inspirations, they exchanged ideas and dreams across the hall as they both ran their own companies, an event planning firm and interior design studio. Over the next several years, they collaborated on over the top dinner parties, intimate supper clubs, and editorial photoshoots; one of which was featured in Veranda. All the while, there was one dream that stayed in the back of their minds... bringing the ultimate at home entertaining experience to everyone! Their goal was to create an inspiring space where all of the fabulous items they use to make their parties so special were accessible, while also sharing their advice for throwing an amazing party! The girls set out on the hunt for their favorite entertaining pieces and from that their dream evolved into creating a line of custom designs that perfectly embodies their lively style.

My name is B. Marie, and I am the founder of Brown Aspiration. I’m a considerable journaler, I have a notebook collection you would not believe. But I noticed that stationery lines in the stores did not depict the diversity we see around the world. According to the 2018 Nielsen Report: “While African Americans make up just 14% of the population, they are responsible for some $1.2 trillion in purchases annually. Further, consumers of color are showing an outsized influence in several key consumer categories, and are increasingly demanding that businesses do and be better.” As one of the consumers who wanted retailers to do a better job of having representation that more resembled my community; I set out in late 2016 to resolve that problem. I created a stationery and office line that focuses on providing positive images of everyday African Americans. The Brown Aspiration store launched officially in February 2018 with our signature #Dopebooks line, in April of 2018 we added our #GlamPens. We are working hard to establish our brand so that whatever your race or nationality; when you think of stationery, your first thought is Brown Aspiration.
