About Heather Donohue Crafts LLC

Heather Donohue is a maker and content creator who has been crafting since childhood. Projects included polymer clay Santas, Garfields, miniature food, and pet commissions. She’d sell at craft fairs with her mom, when she wasn’t growing a pom pom business from her fourth-grade school desk. (Her teacher told her to knock it off.) These days, she's making vintage-inspired Christmas stockings and tree skirts from felt and sequins, tons of ornaments, and other creative commissions. She has created original content and craft projects for companies including Handmade Charlotte and Benzie Design. Felt projects start with a wool-viscose blend that looks and feels beautiful, and is made from renewable resources. Heather’s work has been in magazines, on stage, and online. Select pieces have been available at John Derian Company, Quirk Gallery, {verdigreen}, Parcel, and I Like You, and more. She's mostly worked through being an introvert and now loves leading in-person craft workshops. (They usually include sequins…and treats.) Her craft lab is in Minneapolis, where she lives with her husband, their twins, and cavalier king charles spaniel.

Ornaments 4 Orphans

My wife, Jamie, and I started Ornaments 4 Orphans out of our love for Christmas and our passion for helping others. We both love Christmas and Christmas ornaments! Our wedding was one week before Christmas. On our honeymoon, we drove out to the Michigan countryside, cut down our first Christmas tree and decorated it with our combined eclectic ornament collections. We love decorating our Christmas tree with memories old and new! We took our first trip to Uganda as college students. The poverty and lack of development struck us, as did the people who just wanted a chance to work and provide for their families. We came back to the states and started a non-profit to help a small orphanage and primary school. Out of that, Ornaments 4 Orphans® was started. Ornaments 4 Orphans® is a fair trade, social business. We sell handmade products purchased fairly in developing countries. All proceeds are invested back into the communities we work to provide jobs, prevent orphans and keep vulnerable children with their families. Through fair trade practices, Ornaments 4 Orphans works to fight poverty and encourage sustainability in Africa (Kenya and Uganda), South America (Peru) and Asia (Nepal). When you (and your customers) purchase from Ornaments 4 Orphans®, you can be certain that you are making a real difference in someone’s life across the world. At Ornaments 4 Orphans®, our hope is to make our world a brighter place, one fair trade ornament at a time. Scott Laslo, Founder and CEO

Melange Collection

In each one of our products, you can see our story: great design blended with artisan craftsmanship. In small workshops around the globe, skilled artisans bring our whimsical designs to life. We have been working with the same artisan groups for many years and have developed long-term, committed partnerships that help promote sustainable income, environmental awareness and greater economic equality. We pay fair prices in the local context, offer fair credit terms and prompt payment, we promote safe and healthy work places and we respect cultural diversity. Owners James and Bethany Therrien are committed to upholding the fair trade practices that make Melange Collection unique. They travel the globe to work directly with artisans on new product design and development. These trips offer wonderful opportunities not only for design innovation and collaboration but also to develop more personal relationships with the wonderful people who create our finished products. From design to delivery, we are involved in every step. Our core principles are simple: quality, sustainability and a little bit of fun. We so enjoy creating our line and hope it adds some joy to your home, too!

Arcadia Home

Dawn Kikel founded Arcadia Home in 2001 following her travels around the world for business and pleasure. Captivated by the artisan-made goods she discovered in her travels, she decided she wanted to be closer to the world of handmade items, and to help grow the market for handcrafted designs. Arcadia Home was born. The company has continued in its passionate promotion of craft and handmade design ever since. Arcadia Home products are designed in Brooklyn, New York, and handcrafted by artisans, mostly in India and Peru. It is the hand of these traditional makers that ensures each Arcadia Home piece is uniquely special, and made to last a lifetime. Our designs are mostly made of hand felted wool, alpaca wool, or hand painted glass. We source sustainably, and our artisans are experts in their craft - creating the heirloom of tomorrow. In our work with these fabulous artisan groups, Arcadia Home is helping to preserve heritage craft and artforms, promote the principles of fair trade business practices, and provide our customers with the value of an eco-friendly and socially-conscious option.

Pilgrim Imports

Pilgrim Imports' ornaments are all handmade which means craftspeople have small workshops next to their homes. They can work safely. We are fair trade which means that our craftspeople have their own tools and a supply of metals and beads and can keep safely working to make our amazing products. Pilgrim Imports has been a fair trade company since 1986. We have over 35 years of successfully doing the right thing. Pilgrim is now working with the third generation of artisans. We really love doing this. This is handmade not just from our hands but from our hearts. I want Pilgrim customers to know this was made with love.
