Starting their business in 2014, Monica & Brady are the makers behind MC Shave Gear. Monica & Brady believe a man’s morning routine doesn’t have to be a chore, but can be an enjoyable experience. MC Shave Gear strives to provide the best shave gear, beard and mustache care, body care, and grooming products for men. Brady has been woodworking off and on since watching his dad in the shop. At the tender age of four, he was swinging a plastic hammer just like his old man. Since then, his collection of tools has grown from the blunt hammer to a lathe and chisels. With this set of tools and a well-honed skill set, Brady turns domestic and exotic hardwoods, antler, horn and other materials to make razors and shave brushes that you can use every day. Monica, having learned the art of soap making from her great-grandmother, has expanded on those skills to develop a full line of small-batch grooming products for men. After years of making my own personal bath and body products and seeing the benefits for myself and my family I opened West Point Essentials. I believe in supporting small businesses when sourcing ingredients. My goat milk comes from a local farmer and is used to make my goats milk soap. Shea butter is sourced directly from Ghana and is used in multiple products including soap, body butter, and salves. Honey from a local bee keeper is used in select soaps and the purchase of this honey not only supports the bee keeper, a large portion of the purchase is given to our local humane society. I truly love creating amazing products for women and men can feel good about purchasing and feel GREAT using!

My name is Evan and I started Craftsman Soap and still make and cut every bar of soap to this day. Craftsman Soap is dedicated to handcrafted apothecary traditions and the use of natural ingredients to create simple, effective skin care and soap. What started over five years ago in my kitchen as a last-minute Christmas gift has turned into a busy little shop where we work hard to preserve the hands-on, innovative spirit that got Craftsman Soap Company started. Though the number of batches has grown, the molds I use are the same size and I still hand-pour our tins of waxes and balms, as well as cutting each bar of soap with manual wire-cutters that are custom, shop-made pieces of oak and maple 'equipment'. Along with the same love given to the process, the care and testing that has gone into the formulas means that out of the hundreds of formulas I've written and tested, only the very best make it into the final product. After dozens of iterations in the bar soap alone, I've settled on a recipe that relies on expensive but incomparable shea butter and cocoa butter (along with other great oils, butters, and natural ingredients). And, I've never used synthetic fragrances or colorants to achieve the look and smell of any of our products. In the same way, I've crafted an entire line that brings simple, effective soap, skin care, beard, and wet shave products together.

Founded in 1896 by Emil Hermes, the company was intended to name Hermes after the Greek God but since there were already another cutlery company by that name; it was then named ‘Merkur’ after the Roman equivalent of Hermes. Merkur represents the Roman God ‘Mercury’ on its packaging as well. The first razors for wet shaving already featured a safety comb, into which you clipped a removable wedge-shaped blade. Shortened to 4cm, it was similar in form to a classic straight razor blade. However, it needed to be regularly sharpened. The early models such as 3pc open comb, the gold textured were then introduced. At the beginning of 20th century, production began on very sharp, double edge razor blades, like those produced today. They reduced the risk of injury and when they were blunt, they were cheaper to replace. The sons Eric and Hans joined the company in the late 1920’s. During this period, Merkur launched the progress model which was available in a short (3inch) and (4inch) handle with a very wide adjustment range. It was a 2pc razor with adjustment setting at the bottom of the handle. Also the detailing safety razor was introduced here. It was specially designed for hard-to-reach places mainly used for touch-ups and trimming. It had a knurled handle that helped with better grip. Over the years Merkur patented several times of its models.

Peregrine Supply Co. is a modern men's brand. Everything that we produce is handmade in small batches in Canada. When we started in late 2015, we were dissatisfied with the men's brands that we saw on the market. We felt that the hyper masculine stereotypes that brands often used to communicate with their customers and communities was fragile and inauthentic. It didn't resonate with us, nor did it reflect the men the we actually saw in our day- to-day lives. We decided instead to use our voice to promote honest, confident and rounded men's culture. We're not rum-runners, pirates or cowboys. We're real people, making real products, for real men.
