I'm Denise, founder of SOAP AND OILS BATH CO and UNCHAPPED. I like simple things so, in my opinion, a soap should clean, a lotion should moisturize and a lip balm should keep your lips "UNCHAPPED".  And yes, this is exactly how I came up with the name. It was July 2020 and I was recently unemployed. Being a mom to a then 6 month old I couldn't just sit still and wait until the job market got better so, after giving it a lot of thought I decided it was the right time to do something that represents me, and this is how it all started. I always loved arts and crafts, making stuff from scratch, cooking, etc. I had experimented with making soap before and was always interested in expanding my knowledge further into the handmade skincare business; in my opinion it's just better when you know exactly what is in the products you use everyday. This is how it all began and in July 2021 I opened my first brick and mortar store SOAP & OILS BATH CO. in Old Town, San Diego. The first lip balms I made and sold at my store contained shea butter and almond oil in the ingredients, which is not a problem for a lot of people but those with some food allergies weren't able to use them. I'm lucky enough to be in direct contact with our customers and after I heard the "I can't use this because I'm allergic to…" so many times I decided I needed to make a vegan and allergen free product so that more people could use it.
