About Out Yonder Creative

Out Yonder Creative is the artistic endeavor of Kelly Solesby, an illustrator and designer whose Appalachian heritage and passion for self-expression fuel her work. With a BFA in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Kelly merges her formal education with a love for DIY culture and grunge aesthetics to create zines, prints, and illustrations that embrace authenticity and imperfection. Growing up in the Great Smoky Mountains, Kelly’s connection to nature is a powerful influence in her art, often featuring beetles, snails, and rural life. Her work explores deeper themes of mental health, resilience, and the journey of self-discovery, rooted in her own experiences as a neurodivergent individual. At Out Yonder Creative, she prioritizes honesty and self-expression, believing that art is a bridge to connection, healing, and empowerment. Kelly also engages with her community by hosting mental health events at her local arts council, using her skills as an Art Therapy Practitioner to support others. Her workshops are designed to make creativity accessible to everyone, offering a safe and inclusive space for people to explore art, regardless of skill level. Whether it’s through a mental health zine that provides encouragement or a print inspired by rural life, Out Yonder Creative brings together the raw and the real—offering art that resonates deeply with those who value individuality, authenticity, and the power of self-expression.
